This hotel was perfect for me and my daughter’s stay in Fenghuang. First of all, it’s stunning. The building, decorations, and surrounding areas were beautiful and staying in this small hotel made our visit in Fenghuang feel more significant and of value. This is not an outdated hotel, each part of our room felt brand new though kept in a remarkably preserved old building. The owner and staff are phenomenal! They’re very kind, enjoyable, and pleasant people. When we asked if they could help us warm up some leftovers we had brought, they also prepared us additional dishes to go with it. Throughout our stay the food was exceptional, always authentic Chinese food, and made from scratch by them. Just during our 2 night stay we feasted on dumplings, pastries, noodles, goose, chicken, fresh fruit, and a few other things. After checking out, our host helped us get to where our driver would meet us and stayed with us ensuring our safety. They even provided us with thoughtful gifts upon checking out. Through their behavior towards us and what they’ve created with their hotel, they shared the best of their culture and of humanity, which was what we hoped to encounter.

Just next to the ancient town, the owner was extremely helpful and spoke English. Do not attempt to the place on your own as we did :) The owner offers to wait for you at the bus stop/taxi stop and accompany you to the hotel, which is only a couple of minutes away.

Friendly staff who explained the activities and what to see in the area. Nice, clean rooms in a central but quiet location. They even sent my adapter straight away to my next destination which was very kind. Highly recommend.

We were welcomed by the front desk. They promissed to bring us downtown. One staff in particular, Miss Tian Tie, had lots of good sugestions, like visiting a show, which was amazing. Then, around midnight, she went out of her way to arrange a car and driver to take us to Zhangjiajie the next day, with a nice tour of the Dehang geological park and Aizhai bridge. We had a great driver with a good sense of humor, communication throughout the day with google translate. A big thank you to Tian Tie!
