Before I write what we liked, since there is quite a bit, I'd like to note something that is easy to overlook: the Dependence/Strand Perle is not part of the main hotel house. It's a separate house about 250m from the main house and a further 200m from the breakfast location. This not being totally clear from the outset moderated our response to the place a bit. However, it's a lovely location as close to the beach as you can get in Kuehlungsborn, right across from some good restarants/bars and near the main promenade and shopping street. The rooms are tastefully outfitted and while there's not real extra seating area in the room, the area on the terrace is well outfitted with good chairs, a table, and one's own Strandkorb. The bathroom is wonderful and they brought in a little portable fridge for some morning necessities (seeing as one could not get milk from the breakfast bar in the morning). The breakfast, while a little walk, was wonderful. The options were superb, with high quality rolls and other delicacies that left nothing to be desired. Full tea and coffee options as well. The service was great, with a responsive reception, and the gym, while small, served its purpose. We did not take adavantage of the spa or pool, but both looked great.
