Located 21 km from Snowdon, the property provides a garden and free private parking. The wifi was excellent which was essential for us. Belinda was so thoughtful and made us really at home but gave us plenty of privacy. She went the extra mile making it seasonal for Christmas. The cottage itself was modern but homely and perfectly comfortable for our family of four (kids 6 and 9). The village is close by and fantastic for shopping and all the mountain and river walks you could want. Llanrwst has everything else you need and a really good chippie.

Beaver Grove Cottage 4 stars

Betws-y-coed

Beaver Grove Cottage is located in Betws-y-coed, 21 km from Snowdon, 27 km from Snowdon Mountain Railway, and 30 km from Llandudno Pier. Complimentary WiFi is provided throughout the property and private parking is available on site. We spent 3 nights at the cottage. The location of the cottage was perfect, just on the edge of Betws y Coed . Please note that the bridge which provides a short cut across the river, is currently closed but you can still walk to town in around 15 mins. Take a torch with you The cottage is very quaint and comfortable-set in beautiful grounds. It was nice to relax in the evenings or have a drink in the garden after walking all day. We didn't use the log fire as we were lucky with the weather but we appreciated having Netflix on the TV whilst resting our legs in the evenings. It was a perfect base for discovering North Wales. From here we were able to visit: Beddgelert, Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Harlech, Barmouth, Anglesey, Caernafon and Snowdon. The longest drive was Anglesey -45 mins. Most places were a 20-30 mins drive. All of these places I would recommend. Beautiful scenery and loved the Castles. As we had climbed Snowdon on a previous visit, we decided to walk the Watkin Path. If you walk for about 50 mins, you will pass the most beautiful waterfalls. Take a walk down to them and see the pools. A fantastic place to have a cold water dips and the colour of the water just has to be seen! Whilst in Betws y coed - Take a walk along the river, visit the Swallow falls and stop and have a scone and a cuppa at the Ugly house. Legend says that anyone able to build a dwelling in just one day, complete with four walls and a chimney smoking by dawn, could claim it as his own. Its very charming! There are 3 pubs/restaurants near the cottage but I would recommend booking before you go if you can, as some were fully booked when we tried. We did have a meal one night in the Waterloo Hotel- just across the bridge and passed the Shell Garage. Food was delicious and they didn't rush you with your meals. We also ordered an Indian Take away from Ty Asha Balti House, Llanwrst. It was delicious & only 5 minute drive away.

Tryfan Cottage 5 stars

Betws-y-coed

Tryfan Cottage is a holiday home featuring a garden with a barbecue, located just 2.3 miles from Betws-y-coed. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site.

The two-bedroom cottage has a king room with en-suite spa bath and a twin room with en-suite shower room. The kitchen has a dishwasher and an oven. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels and DVD player, as well as a CD player are featured. Other facilities at Tryfan Cottage include a sun terrace. The property was clean and well equipped when I arrived with a lovely packet of Welsh cakes which was much appreciated after a long drive. The location of this holiday cottage can't be beat with spectacular views of the Moel. Despite being positioned amongst beautiful natural scenery, this never felt detrimental to the cottage's other features. It was well heated, comfortable, with a solid internet connection throughout and the jacuzzi bath was a blessing after a long, wet day in the mountains.
