Beautiful Hotel. I loved that they had coffee at the end of the hall to your rooms ready at 6:00 am as I’m an early riser. Best water pressure in the shower ever. A very nice touch was when you went to eat in the restaurant, they asked which country you are from and then put a little flag on your table The buffet breakfast was amazing with a vast and fresh selection- most times my main meal of the day!! Very friendly and accommodating staff.

I spent 2 weeks here and had a really great time! The room was very clean and cozy, and the neighborhood was quiet and very safe. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious common area. The WiFi is good for video calls too (for anyone who needs to work). There is a terrace where you can chill and see the volcanoes when the weather is good! I liked the breakfast they served every morning. Lupita and Alvaro were very helpful and always available whenever I needed them. Also, Nala, a super cute golden retriever, is very friendly and calm and loves to be pet. I feel so lucky that I found their place, and it is now my home in Guatemala! I cannot wait to come back when I visit Antigua again :)

Casa Alina was a tranquil oasis for my son and I where were able to prepare and rest after our climb up neighbouring Volcan Acatenango and Fuego. If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax, this is your place, as it is located slightly outside the busy, heavily walked cobblestone streets of downtown Antiqua. Views of three volcanos can be afforded from the spacious patio on the second floor, just outside the door of your room. The room, bed/bedding, bathroom and courtyard/patio are immaculately kept. Our host, Alina, was exceptionally wonderful and really took care of the two of us like we were family. It didn't matter that we weren't up for breakfast after our climb and instead, she gave us a delicious Guatemalan home-cooked lunch. Sometimes we had out of the ordinary requests that she happily was able to help us with. For example, because our climb and next flight both required an early morning wake up and drive, she not only arranged for reliable driver who was a personal friend to drive us, but she also got up at 4:45am with a gentle knock on our door to make sure that we were up and didn't miss our ride. On another occasion, she also helped us by calling the local pharmacy to have medication delivered for my son so that we didn't have to travel downtown and explain what we needed in our very poor Spanish. What hotel or airbnb owner would ever take the time or make the effort to do this ?! Alina - thank you so much for your warm and caring hospitality - our trip would have been so much more stressful and challenging without your help - you were truly our guardian angel : ) . In short, if you're looking for an overpriced hotel room or Airbnb in busy downtown Antigua, this is not your place. However, if you prefer a quieter, clean / safe place, where you feel like a local and part of real Guatemalan culture and truly be taken care of by someone who has your back, you need to book your stay here.
