The room was absolutely magnificent and the Kitchen/dining area was beautiful. We were served a most delicious farm to table breakfast. We cannot recommend this home away from home more. My son and I were making an Ireland - Roundtrip with a rental car, and we stopped by for one night.
Mark, an extraordinarily charming, knowledgeable, well mannered Host, was able to make us feel just wonderful. He was showing us two rooms, and we were able to choose, so I decided to take the Mountain View room. Everything was just fantastic! Mark recommended the wood fire oven pizza from a nearby Brewery....just outstanding!!
We definitely will be back, next time we will extend the stay! Absolutely worth it 😁

The central location is perfect for exploring Carlingford. Parking is directly in front of the property. The rooms are beautifully decorated with every comfort provided. We brought our dog along and found the whole experience easy and completely stress-free. We hope to stay at The Retreat again in the near future. Look forward to it. Excellent.

We stayed here as the property was dog friendly, room was brilliant size to bring a dog and had hard floor just in case of an accident or dirty paws. Very plesently surprised we had a great stay here! Great location a minute walk from centre of town 5*!!
