Perfect location in the very center of central Basel, right on the Marktplatz. This is now my go-to hotel for whenever business or leisure travel takes me through this part of the world. Fabulously friendly and attentive staff, a super cafe (popular with locals as well as guests: you're going to need to book if you want to have Sunday brunch there...), and very comfy beds with the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on in a Swiss or German hotel. HIGHLY recommended and worth the price.

The room was really spacious and so were the bathrooms. Super super clean, up to swiss standards. The towels are included, which is great for people that travel light. Bathroom also had some shareable toiletries just in case you forgot something. There are two common rooms to hang out with fridge and kettle for your use. Breakfast is great and fresh. They include a free pass for buses and trams which is really convenient. Plus the staff is really helpful (they were very patient with me on my checkout day).

HITrental Messe Apartments features accommodation within 1.1 km of the centre of Basel, with free WiFi, and a kitchen with a dishwasher, an oven and a toaster. The place was really clean! And it had everything we needed, even storage for suitcases. The kitchen was well equipped and very comfortable. We even found Channels in our language which made us feel at home. The beds were comfortable as well!

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The shower was great. The location made it easy to walk to city center and museums.
