The hosts were super friendly and lovely. The house was warm and welcoming and felt "like home". The bathroom and shower area were very clean especially for being shared. The dining area, doubling as a common space, was cozy. There was only one restaurant (Italian) open in the evening and a single convenience store (usual opening hours) in the area, so prepare accordingly. As such we booked dinner and breakfast at the pension. It was a bit on the expensive side but the amount and especially the quality of the food made it worth. We were served a four course dinner, accompanied with great sake. The breakfast was western style. We would come back without a doubt.

I sought something special for a nice trip to the Inawashiro area, and this (a bit remote) place was a most welcome stay just for that little something. Having a sauna and avanto in the cold of January is a must try! The meals they prepared and everything was perfect. The staff is friendly and nice and eager to have a pleasant conversation any time. As we were traveling without a car, we took a taxi to it but the next day we were offered a ride back to the station. Overall we couldn't be happier about our stay.
