John and Sarah were super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh fruits from the garden. The room was spacious and clean and you also get access to a separate (private) TV room and terrace. Would definitely recommend.

first of all, the owner Maria is the kindest and most affectionate host! The location is incredible, with views of the ocean and sunset. The stone home is very cute and quiet, we had an amazing time there. Maria provides one bottle of wine per night, plus is available to answer any questions and give Madeira tips. 100% positive experience and will come back! Hugs from Viola and Jess

It was a perfect ending for our hike through the island. Wine, electric fireplace, and magnificent view to the sunset in Atlantic Ocean. The place also has a small pool with a view to the ocean, but it was too cold for us to try it. The housekeeper, Maria, was very nice and helpful.

This property has a stunning view of the water below, the agricultural hillside and is remote, offering the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the countryside. We loved having access to hiking trails that left from the property, and returning to a full kitchen that allowed us to cook and relax in the evening. The appliances, dishwasher and washing machine worked perfectly and the high speed internet connection allowed us to send work emails and video conference. Gabriel is the perfect host!

    A real gem of a place. Fabulous views out over the ocean. A million details that make this such a stylish and homely place to stay. A proper kitchen that you can actually cook in, with knives that are sharp and high quality pans etc. Very comfortable bed and endless hot water for showers. The terraces are perfect for any part of the day and in summer, I'm sure the pool is great to cool off in. Very fast WiFi for streaming video, playing games or the odd bit of work. PERFECT!

    I highly recommend Au petit Madere - this is an amazing calm place with breathtaking view! It is well-equipped, with everything you need to stay for a few days or a week. The location is very calm and green, but it is also very easy to get anywhere you want on the island (if you have a car). We would love to come back here in the future!

    It’s a very well-equipped, beautifully-located villa in a ‘complex’ of 6 properties but I was barely aware of the others as they are thoughtfully positioned and nobody is over-looked. The view is lovely. The gardener, Rui is very welcoming and we had pleasant chats. Sonia who keeps the villas cleaned and prepares them is warm and helpful. It’s a really relaxing and quiet location with good wifi. I enjoyed the cats too.

    Location, location, location. Views were absolutely spectacular, remoteness helped to relax, beds were comfortable, shower had hot water, kitchen was equiped, and we even had an occasional lizard coming into the house! Sun was shining at day time, stars were sparking at night, what else one can need?

    The location (Prazeres) is a quiet and lovely place approx 40 mins from Funchal. You can make trips easily to whole island and have a quiet stay at the same time. Some great caffees and good restaurants in walking distance, amazing views from nearby 'miradouros'. The owner is very friendly, offers tasty breakfast and great service. Recommending this place to all who seek quite holiday
