Poros is a small but friendly village. Plenty of choice for places to eat including gluten free options. Long pebble beach with beautifully clear water for snorkelling. Regular car and passenger ferries and options for trips to Ithaca and Zante from the small port area. Generally public transport (bus) is poor but car, motorbike, quad bike and bicycle hire is available. Lots of ATMs but no bank.

Poros beach is a pebble beach.
Poros beach is a pebble beach. Most sandy beaches can be found in the southern part of the island. But Poros was good for snorkeling. Close to restaurants and shopping. Conveniently a port for the ferry to the mainland can be found in this town.

I travelled late in the season (late September) so it was quiet but with most restaurants and cafes open. Hard to say how busy it would be in peak season as many apartments and some shops were closed up.
Some lovely restaurants on the beach and a few tourist shops plus good supermarket, fruit and fish shops. Interesting to watch the boats coming in/out if the harbour and if you're lucky you get to see dolphins!!

We liked the sea across the road and a short walk to eat out.
We didn't like that we were not given what we booked for the first five nights of our stay, the smallest apartment with one double bed. I had booked and paid for a large apartment with one double and one single bed. The property manager was rude, shouted at me and refused to refund the money.
The cleaners and maintenance staff are left to sort out problems. They were doing their best but it was hard to take as a single parent, I had worked hard to prepare for a holiday and it was met with these kinds of attitudes and treatment by the booking agency who can only refund 15%.
A holiday I booked 5 months before should have been free of this type of stress.
We didn't like being at the mercy of property managers or taxi drivers charging too much money.
Not enough fresh fruit and veg.
Chilling at Caminia beach, and a boat trip to Ithaca with Hermes boats to Ithaca were great. Thankfully I shielded my daughter from all of it.

A small, quiet town but perfect for someone wanting to leave the big town noise behind like I wanted. It is good to have a car so that one can make excursions to other parts of the island. Poros is well connected to other areas. There are numerous restaurants in Poros so one can decide to have self-catering or go out eating.

Poros Kefalonia is a small seaside resort.
Poros Kefalonia is a small seaside resort. It is a restful place perfect for those travellers who wish to swim in the sea, eat excellent meals at locally owned tavernas, and generally relax. The beach, as most beaches are in Kefalonia, is pebbly, so beach shoes are recommended. There are places where one can rent a sunbed and umbrella for the day. Poros is an hour's taxi ride away from the airport. If you want to explore Kefalonia, a rental car is recommended. We enjoyed eating at Paradise Cafe, which has a saltwater pool, To Korali, and To Spitikon. The last two are excellent traditional tavernas.
Hotel Oceanis is at a wonderful location, just outside the town of Poros. The view over the harbor, sea and further in the back the town is wonderful. We had a room facing this pool and really enjoyed this lovely view every time I opened my door. Our room very was large and comfortable with and big and comfy bed.
The pool a the hotel is of a good size great views. The family at the hotel are doing everything to make you feel at home and they even provide free transfer into (and from) town and to the ferry. Excellent choice!
The space in the apartment is well utilized. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals during a longer stay. There are outlets near the bed. The sea views are excellent! The room was clean, there’s abundant parking right outside, the swimming in front is idyllic. I’ve visited Greece many times for many months. This visit it seems that barking dogs can be an issue. There was No dog problem here. We were able to sleep with our windows open, listening to the sound of the waves.
.Words are not enough ti describe th hospitality of our host at Areti Apartaments in Poros. Cristina is an full of kindness person that is administrating the location together with the family. Close to the beach, immaculate cleanes in the apartment pertformed every day. Adding the gifts left for us in the apartment to be the cherry on the cake. For sure when we will return in Kefalonia will stay here again. Thank you very much for making out holiday perfect!
Akrogiali is a quiet and relaxing place at the very end of Poros coast almost at a sea shore. The apartments are fully equipped and allow spending undisturbed vacation with support of friendly staff. Poros is a port and is well located to reach other places in Kefalonia by car or other islands by boat. There are many great restaurants and Greek tavernas in Poros reachable on foot. You can swim and relax on very clean beaches or hike along the coast.
Everything was lovely - the owners of the hotel were absolutely LOVELY, and obviously take great pride in giving the guests a great experience. AC worked a treat, the balcony was great, parking out front for those who needed it - and a lovely, welcoming garden! I had a 'mountain view' room - I thought that would be a slight annoyance (not being beach view), but it was beautiful, and serene - so I actually really miss my 'mountain view' now!
Anastasia and Andreas are such a wonderful couple. They are very proud of their hotel and rightly so. As everyone has said how clean it is, it is. Pool was lovely and quiet. Plenty to eat at breakfast. Taverna on the doorstep. Short walk to more, and longer walk to centre. We had a car and would recommend but it's not essential. Poros is lovely and would definitely go back and see our friends A & A
Takis and Matina were the best hosts, always so helpful and concerned about their guests wellbeing. They would go above and beyond to make you have the best experience on the island.
The hotel is close to the 2 main beaches of Poros: Ragia and Poros, both of them very quiet. If you are more into touristic beaches you'll need a car. Takis is more than happy to help you find a car.
We enjoy our trip, everything was great, room was sparkling clean as was hotel, beds could use little upgrade on mattress. Service was great, location was just steps from beach. Restaurant next door was delicious too. Owner even took few minutes from his very busy schedule to drop us off at the port. I would recommend this hotel to others.
The location is fantastic! It’s right round the corner from the bakery and fresh fruit shop. Two minutes from the beach!
The owner was fantastic and met us late after our flight was delayed for hours. The room was absolutely spotless and the hospitality was great.
We will definitely be back, this was our second time in Poros
Loved the staff. The owner is very friendly and enjoys conversations and sharing stories. He upgraded our room and helped prepare our breakfast. The rooms were gigantic and it was more than we expected. This hotel is amazing and a must visit if you're nearby or hopping on/off the ferry. My highest recommendation.
Effi and her mother are absolute delights. Always available and looking to help us. We will miss them!
The hotel is super clean, the breakfast is delicious, and we are literally 2 minutes away from the beach.
The beach is fantastic and every morning the sunrise is right at our window.
What an awesome little hotel and its host!!
The room felt like i am home!! Everything so well thought through to make you comfortable!!
The owner was sooooo nice!! Even gave me national food mousaka she prepared!! Her mom and son are adorable too!!!
The best was balcony sea view!!
lovely, clean and spacious apartment. We really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony for breakfast . Perfectly positioned for the beaches and restaurants. The owner and his staff are lovely, we would definitely stay here again.
We arrived at poros port and then booked this place. Everything meets our expectations. We couldn’t rent a car and the owner provided us a contact to arrange car. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone
The place has an amazing view. It looks better than on the pictures!
The host is really nice, she is very friendly and helpful.
It is close to different nice beaches and touristic attractions in Poros.
What a gem this hotel is. Everything was perfect. Anastazia & Andreas were the perfect hosts. The breakfasts were amazing, everything was fresh.
The room was huge with amazing views and so clean
The room was big enough for two and they cleaned it everyday, not that usual in Greece, so it is a big plus. I liked it and I would like to stay there again.
