The location has a history, and the property was only modified as a guest house while keeping the old design. It is unique because of that. The area around the property is very quiet and very green, with many different types of trees/spices. The staff was very friendly, especially the manager (Christo). He contacted us before we arrived to make sure everything was arranged. The food was delicious, and the price was reasonable.

Simply stunningly beautiful hotel set in acres of farm land. Such a fabulous place to relax and unwind. Loved the farm tour, so interesting, and the pool was wonderful. Delicious food and incredible staff!

Originally, we booked for just one night, but we were so captivated that we extended our stay to 3 days. We were charmed by the simple yet spacious and immaculate cottages. For those seeking a unique experience, you can even sleep outdoors on the comfortable mattresses provided on the terrace—a rare opportunity that’s not possible in the UK. There are no mosquitoes, and the weather is really comfortable. Warm but not too hot or cold. In addition to these remarkable qualities, our stay was enriched by numerous activities suitable for our children. Jagath, known for his hard work, friendliness, and generosity, guided us on a jungle hike to a hilltop temple. We explored a nearby village untouched by tourist influence, took part daily in the preparation of Sri Lankan dishes and breakfast, and even tried our hand at making roti. This immersive experience allowed us to gain profound insights into Sri Lankan culture, traditions, and cuisine, all within an eco-friendly and sustainable paradise. Silver Hill is a true gem for those seeking an authentic and enriching travel experience. Try the rice with a filling inside. A unique food I’ve ever seen anywhere else. Location is beautiful, close enough to all main attraction in the region and also gives you a great look on the village life in Sri lanka. I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

We had a wonderful stay here while visiting the cave temples, elephant migration and sigira rock. This is a true hidden gem…with just 4 chalets spotted around a mango farm, with a lovely central pool. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to help up us. Whenever we went to the pool towels and water were immediately bought to us, and they happily served us incredible fruit platters when requested (at no additional charge). The manager was really helpful in sorting out transport for us, and advising about the best way to do things, and Anula (the cook) was absolutely fantastic - serving up delicious food every night and delighting in our enjoyment of it. As a family it was wonderful to have a central area between the two rooms with a fridge and sink (and even a stove - but no cooking equipment). We were able to keep drinks and food cold and fresh, and we had somewhere to sit together in the evenings to play games and chat.
