An Idyllic Beachfront Escape – A Hidden Gem in Zanzibar We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Royal M, and from start to finish, it was an exceptional experience that far exceeded our expectations.First and foremost, the location is simply unbeatable — right on the stunning Pwani Mchangani Beach. This part of Zanzibar offers a quieter, more serene setting compared to some of the more tourist-heavy areas. One of the things we appreciated most was that we weren’t constantly approached by local vendors, allowing us to fully relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. We were generously upgraded by the hotel management to a beautiful chalet right on the beachfront — just footsteps from the ocean. Waking up to uninterrupted views of the sea and the sound of the waves each morning was pure bliss. The room itself was spacious, beautifully designed, and exceptionally clean thanks to the professional housekeeping team — special thanks to Marium and Munira for their great work. The amenities were well thought out: a nicely appointed bathroom with a separate washroom, complimentary bottled water, and in-room entertainment with Netflix, YouTube, and cable TV all provided. The entire team at Royal M truly made our stay special. From Ghati, Fausta, Amina, and Rehema — whose warm, attentive service was always delivered with a smile — to Mr. Sumo, the F&B Manager, who clearly leads by example. One morning we casually mentioned our interest in trying a traditional Swahili breakfast, and to our delight, Mr. Sumo arranged it for us the very next day. We enjoyed delicious Vitumbwa, Mandazi, and Chappati — a thoughtful and personal touch that really stood out.We also want to highlight the lovely guest relations officer, Obama, who was consistently helpful and friendly throughout our stay. A heartfelt thank you must go to the Assistant General Manager, Mr. Ahmed, who looked after us with genuine care.

Genuinely a fantastic hotel! Everything was exactly like in the photos; a cosy boutique hotel, friendly atmosphere, within a few mins walking distance to a sandy white beach coated with a coral blue ocean. The amenities and rooms were cleaned daily, the breakfast was very tasty and a good choice of beverages/food to buy throughout the day. The owners were brilliant and really attentive, went the extra mile to help us as our luggage got lost and sorted out some spare clothes - not a service you'd get in any other hotel I don't think. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return!

From the very beginning, Wojtek waasa attentive to our needs going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay! We have two kids 4 and 1 and also traveled with my fiance's parents and we ALL loved our rooms. The staff became more like family over our 3 days at the resort too. We walked to town in about 15 mins and was able to pick up items we needed from the supermarket. The beach was beautiful and right behind the property making for easy access to the pretty Indian Ocean. Every single meal was delicious and chef, we miss your fried rice already! Wojtek worked with me to arrange a beautiful birthday dinner by the pool for my guy and it was the perfect place for us. Hussain and his team were wonderful, our children loved the pool, and we would happily go back to Tamu Tamu when back in Pwani Mchangani!

Our stay at Moyo was absolutely wonderful. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and beautifully styled, with direct access to a stunning beach. Each morning we enjoyed delicious breakfast, always featuring a different fresh juice or smoothie, which added a lovely personal touch. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, and you also have the option to order in. One of the highlights was getting the fresh catch from local fishermen that they bring to the beach every day around 5 - 6pm. Our hosts, owner Sonia and hotel manager Daniel, were incredibly helpful and attentive, as was their entire team. They went out of their way to assist with our excursions and made sure we felt truly welcomed. I highly recommend Moyo to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat that offers both comfort and an authentic island experience.

This property is a real gem. It has everything that you need for relaxing vacation. Beautiful beach, nice pool. Amazing nature surrounding everything. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable, they are very kind and pleasant. Rooms are spacious, clean and bed is comfortable. Food and drinks selection is very wide and everything is delicious.
