Everything was perfectly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged – from the big comforts to the small details. We felt very welcome and relaxed, even though it was only for one night. Pension und Gästehaus Paffrath is situated in Großbrembach, 17 km from Train Station Weimar, 17 km from Bauhaus Museum Weimar, as well as 18 km from Weimar City Palace. This was a small pension in a small village. It is a converted barn building. It has a small washer and dryer we were able to use. Incredible value. Breakfast was the typical German breakfast but she included some pastry. She managed with our limited German.

The historic and traditional 4-star BERG & SPA HOTEL GABELBACH is surrounded by a 7-hectare park in the middle of the Thuringian Forest. Beautiful, isolated location. Very close to mountain hiking. Comfortable rooms and nice decor inside and out. Lovely green with lounge chairs. Almost all guests were Germans. Very good breakfast and nice restaurant for dinner. I didn’t get to the spa. The sauna opens in the afternoon.
