We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. There’s a private onsen at the hotel that you can book (was included in my stay) and it has an awesome view during sunset (pic 2). You can also book the breakfast in advance (1600¥) which comes with 2 courses (salad + meat main meal and pancake) and self-serve beverages (including pressed juice from local fruits, which I found quite nice). You can also rent an e-bike for an entire day for 1000¥ (very cheap compared to other e-bike services) which is necessary for sight seeing around the area as buses are infrequent. Shirahama beach / shrine is 5min away, izukyu shimoda train station about 15min, and Ryugu Cave about 55min away on e-bike. The hotel owner is very nice and helpful! She helped me plan the next leg of my trip and even arranged a late breakfast booking! And gave me a ride to the train station on my last day!
