I just stayed at the new Vimeanz resort (having stayed at their equally-excellent Bohemiaz resort before). It's owned and run by the same team, and we were even allowed free use of the big Bohemiaz swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi next door. The owner (and long-term expat) Mikey continues to welcome everyone in his own, warm way. Nothing is too much trouble ... he even took me and some of the other guests into town at night to show us the "sights." A very real time was had by all, so we'll be back, for sure ...

At the same time, it's not far from Kampot and close to a couple of other fun spots if you want that. Very kind, accommodating, and personable owners with good recommendations for things to do in town. Beautiful & relaxed pool atmosphere with a well-tended garden. Hosts sell beers and a few soft drinks. Really gorgeous, colorful room with a comfortable bed. Large bathtub in a relatively spacious bathroom. Quite clean, and water & towels were offered each day. Large fridge in the room to store your takeaways. Bikes available to borrow.

The apartment has a sun terrace and a year-round outdoor pool. Eugenie the owner is English, though has adopted Cambodia as his home, he is very informative and friendly. He met us soon after our arrival, showed us around and gave us tips relating to our stay. The property matches the description on Booking.com, cooking facilities are basic, but it has a very efficient fridge/freezer. A 20 litre bottle of water was left for us, which meant that we didn't have to carry water back from town. Shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom, bonus. Each apartment has a patio set outside, the property is enclosed with access via a gate at night, the swimming pool needs maintenance, though it was a welcome addition to our stay there.

The place was great - clean, quiet, well designed, and the staff were extremely helpful. There's a tuk tuk waiting to take you into town whenever you like. The best part, for better or worse, was that I had the place seemingly entirely to myself. It was a little like living in a Wes Anderson film. That's just because it only opened in October.
