Stunning property and view, excellently maintained. Staff and manager were all very friendly and professional, even helping us clean our bikes. The knowledgeable chef accommodated my gluten intolerance very well and produced delicious food (and big portions too for hungry cyclists). We enjoyed the pool, the relaxing lounge and views from the property’s front.

It turned out that we were the only guests, and we felt like really special ones. We were welcomed with fresh juice and a nice conversation by two lovely waiters/kitchen chefs. The view is amazing—better than in the photos. Breakfast was delicious. Our room had a cute balcony on the back side, and it was super quiet. The room was clean, and the staff were really attentive. They helped us organize a tuk-tuk to the city and arranged a car to take us on a full-day trip with a few stops along the way.

The owners Sarath and his wife Deepthi could not have been better hosts. It’s rare you come across such warmth. Sarath was helpful with finding me a local guide to do a hike. He picked me up from the road as it’s hard for my driver to find. I had 2 delicious Sri Lankan dinners and breakfasts cooked by Deepthi. A tour of the spice garden. A cooking demo. And I was only there a day! Huge comfy bed. Clean facilities. If you are looking for some where off the beaten path to relax and meet great people I highly recommend plantation retreat. This 1930s bungalow is sprawled across 98 acres of a tea plantation, at the foot of the Knuckles Mountain Range. The private waterfall was the highlight of this property. Plus the decor, interior and view from the property was wonderful. Great hospitality provided by the team. You can easily spend a day or two exploring the 98 acres.
