Staying at Casa Dona Antonia was like stepping into a medieval dream. From the moment we arrived in the magical hilltop village of Monsaraz, we were completely enchanted. The sunsets here are the most breathtaking we’ve ever seen ,paired with local wine, fresh bread, olive oil, and the warm hospitality of the people, it was perfection. The lemon tree garden, the peaceful pool, and the endless views across the Alentejo landscape are memories we’ll cherish forever. A special thank you to Sr. Carlos for the heartfelt welcome and the delicious homemade breakfasts , they truly made us feel at home. We’re heading back to London with our hearts full of saudades already. We’re definitely coming back, and I honestly couldn’t recommend Casa Dona Antonia more!

Pool was clean and comfortable with adequate seating areas. The towels were nice. The room was dark for sleeping. ThE beds were comfortable. One of the best things was the the temperature control in the room as it really felt like climate control rather than just air conditioning. The buffet breakfast was good value for the extra cost.

Housed in a former Alentejo convent, it dates back to the 12th century with 750 hectares. we loved this property. probably the favourite property of our 3 week Portugal trip and definitely the most economical. owners work in the gelato store next door so were easily accessible, always welcoming and friendly. good sized bedrooms, 1 ensuite bathroom, one in the hallway. well equipped and beautiful kitchen. great location. air conditioning worked great. only flight up. beautiful and large rooftop deck.

Kristof and Koenraad gave us a room with a balcony and a view stretching all the way to the ocean on the horizon. Everything was spotlessly clean and carefully arranged down to the smallest detail. Breakfasts were a real highlight — especially Kristof’s homemade pastries. Absolutely delicious! They also shared amazing local tips and recommendations every day, always checking in to make sure we had great plans and weren’t missing anything. Their care and attention were exceptional. I truly believe very few people in the world offer such kind of hospitality that Kristof and Koenraad do. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable for your vacation - this is the place.
