This was our choice to stay the night before we started the Camino and I couldn’t imagine a better place to start. Ana and Pedro welcome you into their home like family. Please don’t pass up the pilgrim dinner…Pedro is an excellent chef and spending time with the family and other pilgrims is priceless! This location does add about 4-5km to your pilgrimage from Valença but it is well worth the extra distance. We started out in the cold rain but and ended up spending most of our pilgrimage in the cold rain but I could always hear Ana’s encouraging words to just embrace whatever comes and we did! Obligado Ana y Pedro!

Vale de São Torcato Hotel Rural is situated in Guimarães, 4.3 km from the iconic Guimarães Castle. Beyond my expectations ! Great welcome by Jose & Maria at the restaurant ! Great team ! It’s one of my favorite hotel now.

Set in Viana do Castelo and facing Lima River, the AP Dona Aninhas is 2 minutes' walking from the city centre. The hotel is beautiful! The rooms were gorgeous! The hotel lobby is bright and spacious as well as inviting. We ate dinner at the hotel and our meal was delicious!

Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. Friendly helpful staff, absolutely beautiful place and grounds. Had a great stay highly recommended
