Sarande is not very clean & there are a lot of half constructed hotels everywhere. The promenade has many tacky bars, a strip club & amusements along it. Aesthically it does not present well. The whole town lacks charm. There are too many beach clubs you have to pay to enter which makes the town feel like a wannabe Ibiza. The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean. Renting sunbeds/umbrellas can be quite pricy. If you go in the afternoon they would charge you the same price on some beaches. Driving in Ksamil can be quite hectic. The streets are quite narrow and not all the streets have pavements and on streets where they are present either they are taken up by shops or else the people do not use the land walk in the middle of the road. Be careful if you are driving there especially during rush hour and parking is not easy. The restaurants are really good. We tried a lot of them and the food is delicious and most of them have very reasonable prices. We were always treated nicely from the staff.Guest review byJean PaulMalta - 10.0

Plazhi Bovës and the surrounding forest is awesome. Sad it's full of trash. The peninsula with the monastery and the abandoned bunkers were amazing. Drymades beach town is only worth visiting for the beach - which is amazing. Smallpeeble beach with clear clean water. Noting to see og do in the besch area. Only restaurants, minimarkets and beachbars. No shops or small streets. The restaurants are in general overpriced compared to other areas in Albania and the food and service does not follow the high prices. The owners seemed to make the effort to provide with help and assistance, despite the lack of quality in the aspects below. For the price you pay in high season which was 45 EUR per night, of course you don't expect luxury, but some basics should be in place: - 1st of all, the photos used in Booking.com were all from the 2nd building they manage, and don't correspond with the room booked at least on 50%. - the power plugs were a hazard to be aware(when you're travelling with a toddler). - the electric stove provided was almost at half meter height, a constant danger for toddlers. - the air con could be put on only by plugging in the plug and it was configured to the coldest temperature, very annoying to deal with it during the night. - hygiene could've improved: closet was dirty on the top, full of dust, the bathroom super-small. - when I asked for a sponge and dishwashing lotion, the owner told me that I was the 1st ever to ask for that. Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore" (promenade) perfect for evening walks along the beach. The village stretches along the coast, offering breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters, though you'll need to walk a few steps to reach the shore. We had no trouble finding a sunbed without reservations, and the food was delicious and fairly priced—highly recommend restaurants Poseidon and Te Stefi! The only downside was the lack of trash bins along the promenade, which left the walking path a bit messy. This is definitely an area that could be improved. Lukovë is a small, cozy village 20km from Sarandë. It is surrounded by hills with olive trees and other typical Mediterranean Plata that give off a specific and pleasant aroma. It is the perfect place for alternative tourism away from the overcrowded Ksamil and Sarandë. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was evident — everything was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The cleanliness was impeccable, and every corner of the hotel felt fresh and welcoming. The food? Absolutely delicious! Every meal was a highlight, showcasing fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. But what truly set this place apart was the hospitality. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high standards of service, comfort, and charm. Hotel Amare has become one of my absolute favorite places in Palasë.
