- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 280 reviewsExcellent breakfast, with a lot of choices. I tried most of them, and they were all excellent, throughout our 5 day stay. The fact that they have a very good coffee machine, that makes an excellent coffee, is a fantastic bonus for us. Also, there was this square bread (lauf....) that was a first for us coming from Canada, and definitely a delicacy. When we told the owner we love that bread she made sure we have them in the morning at our reserved table. Thank you for that. Very friendly staff, and the food from the local restaurant is very good.Guest review byRobertCanada

Excellent breakfast. Quite the spread I must say. Very helpful staff. I even got picked up and taken back to the train station. The spa treatments were heavenly as were the pool and the saunas. Definitely another highlight of my 15 days traveling around Europe.Guest review byDonnaUnited States

Very beautiful place to spend a few days or even more than a week. Plenty things to do - hiking, spa relax, good restaurants, beautiful sceneries. In Bad Aussee there are several places to eat or buy groceries. Whithin a few minutes you reach a lake to swim or a beginning of a hiking path. Good position for visiting Hallstadt, Bad Ischl or Salzburg. If you want to have dinner in a restaurant it is good to make a reservation otherwise you may have a problem to get seats.Guest review byLenkaCzech Republic - 10.0

I recommend the '6-Seen-Wanderung' tour on the Tauplitzalm to everyone. Beautiful! The braver ones can take a dip in the cool lakes. Nearby is Hallstadt's iconic lake with its church. Mozart's birthplace - Salzburg can also be discovered within easy reach. I recommend the sightseeing boat tour to everyone. In Bad Aussee, the salt bath of the Narzissen Vital Resort provides real refreshment. It is a very special experience to hide in the coolness of one of the salt mines in the heat. I also recommend the special library of Admont Benedictus Abbey. Also, for fathers with sons, the Lotus Museum in Bad Aussee.Guest review byGNAGYHungary - 8.0

absolutely stunning in the winter, everything was covered in snow when we went at the end of December. Also would be beautiful in summer by the lake. some nice restaurants near by around Grundlsee and the tourist information office was very helpful and she spoke good English. the lake is huge so takes a while to go round. there were very few English tourists in the area, so knowing a bit of German helped. the frozen lake nearby by was also a great find. we went tobogganing at Loser near Bad Aussee which had great views from the top. the buffet style food at the JUFA hotel in Grundlsee was great so you don't have to wait for food if you have hungry children. also drove through Halstatt which is a very popular tourist destination, not that impressed just lots of buses/people and no space or parking.Guest review byWillson - 10.0
A beautiful small lake nestled in the mountains.
A beautiful small lake nestled in the mountains. The area offers many activities and also the possibility to just chill and relax. It is a great place to spend your whole vacation or to use as your launching pad to enjoy the Salzkammergut area.Guest review byMarioAustria - 10.0

Tauplitzalm is a perfect spot for winter and summer activities. Skiing and langlauf in winter; hiking, via ferrata, climbing, mountaineering, cycling and swimming in the lakes in summer. Suitable for families with small children as well as for serious athletes. Typical Austrian Alm with a lot of cows grazing around during summer months. Peaceful and quiet.Guest review byTihanaCroatia - 10.0

It's the 5th or 6th stay in Bad Mittendorf in the skyying season. Hope that global warming will not ruin the crosscountry skiing because Bad Mittendorf area is ideal for that with its many loipe which are well managed. However, this winter we were unlucky with snow but local people put lots of effort the maintain at least one loipe available down. There is an option always to go to the top of the mountains the loipe there is always excellently working. The town is nice, supermarkets are avalilable. If you want you can go to the swimming facility with hot spa and lots of possibilities. Good place with children, too. I warmly recommend the place. We love it.Guest review byZsuzsaHungary - 10.0
We very much liked it. Came with a 6month baby.
We very much liked it. Came with a 6month baby. They helped with the baby bed, and everything we needed. Breakfas was great, the view is really astonishing Asking extra money for the pool table was a little suprising, but anyways, at least no-one wanted to use it...Guest review byGáborHungary - 10.0

Bad Aussee is a very good area for cross country skiing in the winter, and also for mountain biking in the summer. The Narzissentherme resort is also very nice. Bad Aussee is also near the Loser Ski area (15 minutes by car).Guest review byBruceAustria - 10.0
Very cool town half an hour drive from Hallstatt.
Very cool town half an hour drive from Hallstatt. The center is tiny but very beautiful. In the central park there is a gazebo with pine essential oils. Near the town there is a ski resort Tauplitz, where you can drive a car along a serpentine. The town often smells of cow dung, I don't know why. In principle, this did not scare me, I am a city dweller, and such smells are unusual for me.Guest review byPaxmSlovakia
