Staying at Hotel Burgblick was a huge pleasure. The hotel is rebuilt from an old family house. It has amazing views of the Hohenwerfen Castle - both day and night. The rooms are clean and spacious and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was large. Chocolates were presented in the rooms. We were greeted upon arrival with a very fine glass of wine and a nice conversation with the owner. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the tastiest and freshest breakfasts of any we've experienced in our many travels. Highly highly recommended.

    If you like relaxation and SPA - this is the right place. In the middle of the breathtaking mountains and after driving the Grossglockner High Alpine Road this is the perfect spot for us. Our room was wonderful (Nature Plus Room with balcony and mountain view) and the bed was very comfy - sometimes I have problems with sleeping in a hotel - not here. The Spa is great, many different pools and spots, breakfast and dinner was spectacular with an extra themed buffet in addition to the served dinner. They have a great ground floor garage where we could park our low Corvettes without any problems and the bus stop in front of the hotel is very convenient if you plan to go to Zell am See or to the Kitzsteinhorn and don't want to drive with your car. Everything was perfect as always. It was our third visit here and we will come again and again and again.

    mama couldn't have made a better fitting into the scenery crib. A funky place. With a good vibe. Pretty informal. Very kind and good willing staff (I even got checked in upon arrival, pretty early in the day, thank you, warm smile blonde lady). The "lobby" feels like a mountain sports hub with people continuously coming in or going out. The escalade concept is a nice touch both indoors and outdoors. Oh, the room, yes! You feel like in a hut with its own cave (the bath area). Mine had a sauna, too, though I haven't used it. Nothing pretentious, everything casual and coherent with the modern approach of traditional and wooden all around the hotel. I would stay there again when snowboarding or biking.

We had a slight issue with the room's electrical supply, but once we reached out to the staff, they were very helpful and provided us with an upgraded room.     An excellent place to visit. Beautiful scenery. Loads to see and do. Lovely food. Would advise when booking accommodation that you book somewhere that includes the summer card as this gives you free access to all the gondolas in the area and free travel on local buses and trains plus discounted entry to many activities and saves you a lot of money.

    The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.

    We didn't eat out much as accomodation had a very well equipped kitchen. Public transport was punctual and free with a Sommer Card provided by our hosts. All lift passes that we used were free also. The only cost was a booking fee for getting up to the Schladming Galcier. (PREPARE TO QUE FOR THIS ONE). Be aware that shops are closed for religious holidays etc.

    We stopped over for one night on our trip from the Dolomites to Salzburg. I first visited Kitzbuhel in 1970 when I was on a high school trip. I wanted my husband to see what a charming Tyrolean town it is. We really enjoyed ourselves and the hotel was wonderful!

    Quaint village that I wish I’d had more time to explore for walking and nature. We were looking for a local experience as we like to see how people in an area live. We were very happy with our choice to visit and enjoyed authentic Austrian cuisine and lodging while visiting.
