SwedenPerfect hotel, lovely design of the room and comfortable beds. Access to a roof pool (not very warm) and a few saunas! We loved it and used to the fullest (you can use the spa area until 2pm on your departure day). The breakfast was tasty and the staff working in the hotel very nice and helping (we needed to store our luggage both upon our arrival and departure and the staff helped us with that). The location was splendid, with a waterfall next to the hotel (which you cannot hear in the hotel), a nice path behind the hotel with amazing views. I hope I have a chance to visit this hotel again.

Staff were fantastic. Reception staff ready to take your hand and show you the place. Take you where you need to go. Restaurant staff-highest level pros that speak multiple languages and are extremely friendly. Spa staff-kind and polite with (as my wife testifies) extraterrestrial massage abilities (Krishna I’m looking at you!). Hotel manager that is totally hands on. Jumped on one of my problems and solved it like a wizard. Much appreciated.

Pretty sure this was Wes Anderson’s inspiration. Amazingly curated property with a historic charm and stylings, paying homage to the Bad Gastein Royal haydays of the early 1900’s, but with all the modern comforts and cleanliness. The staff are amazing, as are the half board breakfast and dinners. We fell in love with this property, and can’t wait to come back. Like stepping into a time capsule to 100 years ago, but with comfy beds and an amazing spa. The saunas after skiing were such a hit. Can’t recommend a hotel more! We think in a historic town like bad Gastein, it makes no sense to stay at a super modern hotel - save those for the more modern cities, and revel in the beauty and architecture of Bad Gastein and Villa Excelsior

Our room had a beautiful view of snow capped mountains and the Bad Gastein Valley. We had freshly picked lettuces for our dinner and kind, friendly staff, including the owner’s family. We were picked up at the train station by Peter, the owner’s son, who also was our bartender in the evening. This a health spa, so try the Radon bath and the small group exercise class. I could hear birds singing all day in this precious spot with opportunity to ride a gondola to the top of nearby mountain for lunch surrounded by rugged Alpine peaks. This is a heavenly spot - a little isolated - so get the half board package and enjoy breakfast and dinner where the healthy menu changes daily.

Everything about the hotel is perfect. Our room was spacious, very clean, bright. The breakfast was excellent! The wellness area is great. Staff is very friendly. What made this stay exceptional was being able to use the wellness area even after 9 pm, being allowed a free late check-out and even use the wellness area after the late checkout.
Will definitely visit the hotel again.

The breakfast and dinner was phenomenal. The staff was very nice. The spa facility was great. The room was amazing, so big and so luxurious. Finally, the receptionists were very welcoming and incredibly friendly - making you feel at home. Special thank you to Renáta from the reception who made sure I had a pleasant stay.

I stayed in a hotel with my family for four nights! Massive room with excellent facilities. Delicious breakfast. The mattress was soft and comfortable. Good bathroom. Perfect spa with sauna and swimming pool. Underground way to Alpineterms. Skistail with dryer.

I loved Bad Gastein’s mix of Belle Époque elegance and wild mountain scenery. Mornings meant hiking and cable-car views; afternoons were for soaking in the thermal waters; evenings, cozy bars and great food. The waterfall running through town gives the whole place a dramatic energy. It felt like stepping back in time without losing modern comfort—truly a memorable stay.

I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter. The town keeps developing and renovating that can be noticed in every visit.

Bad Gastein is an amazing mix of natural beauty and old-world charm, surrounded by stunning mountains and lush forests. In winter its a fantastic skiing area, and since its over 1000 meters elevated they usually have a long skiing season. In summer its great for hiking! There’s so much to do, from relaxing in the famous thermal spas to exploring endless hiking trails with breathtaking views.

We visited the thermal pool, the minimum stay is 4 hours, which is probably little bit too long, but the water was nice and warm, outdoor pool with a mountain view.

Petrol station available.
Skilift right at the center.
Very friendly and helpul people (a special thanks to a lady at a petrol station who helped us to find a car mechanic on saturday afternoon to fix our car to be able to drive back home)

Bad Gastein is a totally magical place, if you like rowdy slope side apres and a buzzy town centre, go to St Anton. Bad Gastien's signature are it's spa and the weirdly magical atmosphere the huge number of belle epoch hotels, some refurbed an open, some semi-abandoned, some totally derelict. Super convenient with the train to Munich/Salzburg, come see it before the town becomes cool again.

It’s nice little town.
It’s nice little town. If you like skiing and bathing in one of spa areas, then you will enjoy. Not lot of restaurants and good ones are always reserved so you need to prebook if you want to have lunch or dinner. Not a lot to do with children, specially young ones that are not skiing yet.
