The hotel is a short walk from town and close to the lake. The hotel itself is very clean and seems newly renovated. We visited during the first weekend of the busy season but there was still ample parking for our rental car. The entire staff was so friendly, happy and cheerful. We were sad to leave but will definitely be back.

Excellent location, family ambient, very clean rooms. The hotel has few own parking spots but the parking around the hotel on the streets is posible free of charge. The staff was very friendly and hepful from the arrival to the check-out. We left the hotel feeling like we were visiting family. ❤️ The breakfast selection was very good, tasty and served to the table in the cosy ambient of the rose garden. The food choice was very diversified, with fresh vegetables and fruits and in the right amount.

My wife and I spent a week at Al Faro in July of 2023. The hotel is very nice, with clean, spacious rooms. The breakfast is absolutely top-notch, with huge variety of food and very tasty as well. Where the experience really shines, however, is with the staff. I can honestly say I've never been to a friendlier hotel. Everyone was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and warm. We would 100% stay here again.

For a 3* Superior hotel - it was really very nice, more like a 4*. The staff was friendly, the food was good and nicely served. Breakfast could have been a little bit better (more fruits/healthy stuff), but overall, it was a nice stay - better than expected.

We had a wonderful large suite with private balcony and AC. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and large lounging area in nature looking out to the lake. Wonderful. Also, the breakfast buffet is expansive and tasty. It makes you want to get out of bed and start the day off right.

Decent room with 3 single beds (2 joined together and the third one separate). Fairly quiet location (perhaps because we visited this establishment off season). Great variety for breakfast. Ample parking. Beautiful lake promenade nearby.

Numerous cycle paths around the lake, lookouts, vineyards,...

Numerous cycle paths around the lake, lookouts, vineyards, some restaurants around the cycle paths are closed even though Google shows them to be open. But there are occasional places to refill drinking water on the cycle paths. The bike paths are flat and suitable for everyone, but there is almost nothing in the shade for children, so you will spend the whole day in the fire if you come in the summer :) but to get wet you can jump into the lake - only from the beach for a fee, or you can get a card at the local accommodation for free entry. The disadvantage of the lake is very, very many mosquitoes in the early evening at the lake.

Neusiedl town is a good place when visiting the lake and/or national park. A car or at least bicycle is needed, because everything is a little bit far. There are some restaurants and shops in the town.

A great experience in a small town.

A great experience in a small town. Very quiet, relaxing, and refreshing. Excellent breakfast and some great restaurant choices in town. Well worth the drive from Vienna. If you are a wine aficionado, this location must be on your bucket list. High-quality art work and personal touches in every room personally by the owner (forgot to say, she is awesome and the best host I've seen).

Weiden am See is a town for a quiet but active stay.

Weiden am See is a town for a quiet but active stay. It offers so many activities to the visitors that you are never bored. You can go cycling on special paths, visit the natural reserve nearby, enjoy the sun at the beach along with water activities, take a short trip to a nearby family park, pick strawberries directly from someone's strawberry farm, walk on the quiet streets and admire the nature, the plants and the neighbourhoods, go shopping in Parndorf, eat at local restaurants, go wine tasting and many more. It is a pleasure to spend time there, as a couple or a family with children.

It's a small village.

It's a small village. There is no much in terms of facilities. You will have to travel to Sopron or some other little towns not far from it if you want to do more than just a specific things as I did. I was there for a very specific reason and the place was close to where I needed to be. Otherwise one could choose Sopron and rent a car.

Illmitz is a great location for visiting the Neusiedler See National Park. It has a good choice of restaurants; our hotel (Hotel Post) did evening meals Thu-Sun, so we had a chance to try other restaurants on oher evenings (Heuriger Holzhammer Pusztascheune Illmitz, Antonios Hof). Before leaving we used the web site https://www.birdingplaces.eu/ which had good information on places to visit and what we might expect to see. The hotel itself also had a good booklet on local places to visit and wildlife and we bought an English language version. There is also a good National Park Information Centre.

Perfect destination for families with children.

Perfect destination for families with children. The lake is quite warm, shallow, the beach is nice, well equipped with playgrounds, possibilities to eat and drink, have a shower. In the town there are enough restaurants, supermarkets, often markets.

TERRIBLE PLACE, DO NOT BOOK!!

TERRIBLE PLACE, DO NOT BOOK!! The condition of cleanliness and comfort was completely unacceptable and utterly disappointing. And until now the host showed no response to our messages. Going missing so they can avoid the problem. The issues we encountered are as follows: 1. Dirty Bedding: The bed linens had visibly hair, black stains, blood spots, and yellow discolouration. This is absolutely not acceptable. 2. Missing Bedding in One Bedroom: In one bedroom, we found a duvet and pillow in a drawer, but they were not covered. We had to put the covers on ourselves, which is clearly not part of the standard service. 3. Food Crumbs Under the Sofa Blanket: There were significant amounts of food crumbs hidden under the sofa blanket, indicating a complete lack of proper cleaning. 4. Uncomfortably Cold Temperature: Despite turning the heater to maximum, the apartment remained cold, forcing us to wear down jackets indoors. This level of discomfort is unacceptable. Including the shower boilers not working properly and we had to take cold showers. 5. Slow Wifi: Can't even load videos on tiktok, don't even try youtube. We arrived at 8 PM after a long journey, and given the condition of the apartment, it was too late for us to find alternative accommodations. While we are trying our best to adjust to the situation, we expect a refund due to the clear failure to provide the promised standards of cleanliness and comfort. I tried communicating with the property via booking.com, but their are not responsive, and showed no initiative in solving the situation. I felt very neglected and disappointed in this service.

Rust is small but very nice historical town with churches,...

Rust is small but very nice historical town with churches, historical houses and town walls. On Hauptstrasse and close to Fischerkirche you can find nice wine bars as the town is wellknown for its wines. Also you can find good typical restaurants near Alten Stadttor (Seezeile). The town is good starting point to discover this part of Neusiedlersee region. Preferable by bike but you can also walk or by bus (free for Neusiedlersee card holders). In hot summer you can go to the lake (2,0 km from city center) to enjoy the watter activities on the lake or swipping pools. You can visit Mörbisch with local museum, wineries and lake beach. Going by bike is the best way.

It is an excellent place for families with kids.

It is an excellent place for families with kids. Also one big advantage is that it is easy to reach from Vienna with public transport. The lake at Podo beach is shallow to far away so for kids who cannot swim yet but are trying to learn it is perfect. The Podo beach play areas are excellent and interesting for children. There is a restaurant within the beach area which is quite fine, but one can also go to the nearby restaurant outside the beach and come back. We found out that with the Burgenland card issued to us upon checkin one can go in and out of the Podo beach as often as one likes. Also near one of the entrances to the Podo beach there is very well supplied supermarket- no need for us to go all the way further into the town in search of supermarkets.
