The pool on the top was a gem, not crowded, everything you need is there, you can lay down and read your book in peace after a swim, just relax! Special mention to the breakfast: never had such good food in a breakfast buffet, I literally loved it. Would surely like to come back again!

RussiaWe were 3 families staying for 12 days in total. We have enjoyed each minute spent in the hotel. The ambiance, the comfort, the view. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Plenty of activities for all ages (3 generations of our family). I would highly recommend free classic concerts in the concert hall of the neighboring Hotel Europa or on the nearby square.

You feel like in a hut with its own cave (the bath area). Mine had a sauna, too, though I haven't used it. Nothing pretentious, everything casual and coherent with the modern approach of traditional and wooden all around the hotel. Amazing city of Salzburg. I love this city and a good ideea is to buy a day public transport and move around the city. If you go from airoport just buy a bus tichet 2.5 euro and choose Bold ONLY if you want to be more comfortable. Many services did not have clear English instructions/price lists/online shops. It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter. Sankt Gilgen was lovely - picture postcard beautiful with plenty to do to keep us busy (lake and mountains walks, boat rides, trains, cable cars). Visiting in September, we found it very quiet at night with very few restaurants open, particularly on a Monday and Tuesday. I liked the slower pace of Salzburg compared to other major tourist European cities. The vibe is friendly but a bit more laid back. It is a very walkable city but has so much to offer. It is very historic not just because of the famous movie sound of music, which made it more popular all over the world. It is after all the birthplace of Mozart. Nature lovers will definitely appreciate the rolling hills and mountains and the quaint villages not far from the city centre. Salzburg is a very safe destination for solo travellers but it will be more fun visiting it with someone who shares common interests.Guest review byCatherineAustralia
