FAQs about hotels in Tyrol
A Ski Heaven In the Heart of Alps
One of the top European ski destinations, the Austrian Tyrol is divided into 2 parts: a larger North Tyrol with the region’s capital Innsbruck, and a smaller East Tyrol. Its pristine beauty and a variety of activities make it a haven for outdoor lovers.
Whether you’re into skiing, hiking or mountaineering, the Tyrol provides both great facilities and conditions so you can enjoy your favourite activity to your heart’s content. Its most famous ski resort, Ischgl, is part of the world’s largest ski area and offers 238 km of well-prepared pistes, vibrant nightlife and annual concerts from pop stars.
For something more low-profile, visit the resorts of St Anton or Kitzbuhel, both equally popular, with a lot of ski lifts, slopes ranging from easy to difficult, and cable cars. In summer, make use of the mountain bike paths and great hiking trails.
Innsbruck is the Tyrol’s only city and as well as being a wintersports centre capable of hosting the Winter Olympics twice, it’s also a cultural and educational city, with a world-renowned university and a variety of events. You can admire the stunning mountain views from the cosy cafés and bars of which Innsbruck has plenty.
So whether you’re looking for a stylish chalet, a fully-equipped apartment or luxury Tyrol hotels, Booking.com has over 4100 different properties on offer to make your stay perfect!

- From $293.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 573 reviewsThis is the most gorgeous setting of all the hotels during my month long Europe vacation! The hotel is decorated perfectly for the beautiful mountain setting. The dinners and breakfasts were amazing, so glad we included them in our stay. It was nice after a day of hiking to know we didn't have to look for a place for dinner - our hotel had probably the best option around for miles! The staff was extremely helpful for hiking and adventure suggestions also.Guest review byJenniferUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 238 reviewsI recently stayed at the hotel in Achensee and had an absolutely sensational experience. The facilities were top-notch, beautifully maintained, and offered everything one could need for a relaxing stay. What truly stood out, however, was the management team – their service was simply incredible. Every detail was handled with genuine care and professionalism, making the stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!Guest review byLaz-AndresAustria

The hotel was cozy and even though it was a busy season, we never felt crowded. The food was absolutely fantastic. We were not sure what to expect, but there were plenty of options for our vegan a gluten free family members. It was our first time experiencing “half board” and we loved it.Guest review byIsabelleUnited States

The hotel gives the welcome card which is great for free transport. I bought the Innsbruck card as I wanted to do as much as possible and it was well worth the money, several options available and getting it online and onto my phone was very quick and easy. Innsbruck and surrounding villages have so much to offer in so many ways, it’s a great destination with excellent transport linksGuest review byeileen elisabethUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stopped over for one night on our trip from the Dolomites to Salzburg. I first visited Kitzbuhel in 1970 when I was on a high school trip. Not sure Lienz is on traveller's radar. It's a must when travelling to Austria. Easy to get to by train from Germany and from within Austria. A small town easily navigated on foot. It's stunning. It was a shame the gondola was not operating though.Guest review byHelenAustralia - 10.0

The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.Guest review byPavelGermany
