AustraliaA really nice newish hotel with some pretty neat functions: a night light that activates as you approach the bath area and independently shuts off when you return to bed, separate lights for the toilet, shower, and vanity areas that are individually controlled; a nice variable separation wall between the sleeping area and the vanity/bathing area (ie. a huge sliding mirror that separated the 'rooms'). And the front desk staff is exceptionally friendly.

North ward has a great vibe and feels safe. Lots of people about without being too crowded, lots of great eat places to chose from ( can recommend the Asian Thai Fusion restaurant for dinner - yum - and the Bakehouse on Eyre Street for brunch ), beautiful views out to the bay, lovely waterfront walks/ cycling, and several swimming pools within walking distance. Townsville is huge, when you go up Castle Hill and look at the town it is unbelievable how big it is. Choose your accomodation carefully to be near the attractions you want to visit. Castle Hill has awesome views of the town and shows you how vast it is. Never been before, so flying in to this port city in between...
Never been before, so flying in to this port city in between mountains just touching the clouds was brautiful. Saw the stadium where the Cowboys play! The Strand was beautiful on a sunny winters day and we were there for a sports event so we were surprised to see everything from basketball, hockey, rugby and even a darts complex all in one district.
