The room itself felt very new and clean; we got a free upgrade to a medium sized room and it was certainly better than the original small one we sought. The interior design is very neat and I appreciated what seemed like sound proofing? The room was quiet and the perfect temperature, controlled by ourselves.

Everything about this accomodation is well thought out. It start's with a calming scent when you first step foot into the hotel. And it gets better from there. The staff was amazing and very helpful, especially accomodating towards our family with two small children. The apartments are huge and brand new - the decor and accents are very esthetically pleasing. Finally, parking is free and you can even print for free at the hotel. From now on when we visit Sydney we will stay there and simply commute.

Sydney is a mess. Everybody is miserable. People are more interested in being on their phones. It is extremely overcrowded. Traffic is ridiculous, and taxi's are expensive. I will never travel back to Sydney. Sydney airport is a disaster. Any further travels will be via Brisbane.

What pleasure to sit/walk and observe the Hunter River from the Newcastle foreshore. Delightful beaches are in easy access. So too Newcastle inner-city area. Stockton (on the northside of the river is worth an excursion and reminder to "old" Newcastle. Excellent train service to Maitland and bus services to other near locations.

Low-key vibe to the area and town. Not at all built up, considering it is a popular destination. Loads of great restaurants, accommodation and shops to choose from. Recommend using Byron Bay kayaks for watching the whales and dolphins, a highlight of my trip! Went to Bang Bang restaurant (Asian sharing - good food but noisy) and the Treehouse (great food). We had a car and managed to visit neighbouring towns and beaches, which were also low-key with original buildings, so quaint.

It was just an overnight stop returning from Canberra.

It was just an overnight stop returning from Canberra. The city is relatively large and sprawling and difficult to navigate with compulsory turns etc. Signs pointing to "i" information were confusing, but after I gave up looking for it, I found that it was in the library and quite helpful for maps and brochures of things to do. For someone not familiar with the area, Wodonga (over the river) is much easier to navigate. In the evening I had dinner at the pizza restaurant (in the main street of Albury), but they also have pastas, mains, salads etc, and I was happy with my choice. The following morning I went to Gateway Island, on the Victorian side of the river, planning to do the 4-5 km Gateway Island trail, but actually ended up doing the Crossing Place Trail just over the road which was also 4-5 km with sculptures and information along the river bank.

It's our closest regional city, from our farm a couple of hours distant. The city has its own country feel, events, music yes but also any kind of music you want to enjoy, friendly retailers and staff, helpful accommodation and hospitality staff. I've known its centre all my life; so has my immediate family. Best of all is "it's NOT Newcastle," a sprawling bigger city. Tamworth is easier and faster to navigate. It's growing and adding more types of events year by year, so it is a great place to shop, enjoy entertainment and hospitality, obtain essentials and extras for cars and farm, see fine art, just a familiar, progressive place to visit with its heritage values.
