The GOOD points about Mt Isa QLD 🇦🇺 Australia
The GOOD points about Mt Isa QLD 🇦🇺 Australia 1) Big wide open streets..... 2) A great history of Mining in Australia 3) Great Wide open spaces... 4) A great Fossil exhibition centre. 5) Great Weather 6) Good (basic) trip to Mt Isa from Townsville on the 'QR Inlander' train. 7) Mt Isa could be a great location to the next chapter of 'MAD MAX' movie set!!! 08) On the last night - I bought a take away meal from one of the Thai Restaurants - which was great!! Food, service and everything. The BAD points about Mt Isa QLD 🇦🇺 Australia 1) 50% of the shops were vacant! 2) So so sad to see so many Indigenous Australians wondering aimlessly around Mt Isa - clinging to alcoholic beverages. This was very shameful I thought. 3) In Mt Isa, there was a lot of general rubbish in the streets, at least in the CBD. Food & Drink packaging.. galore. Where is the 'Local Council'? 4) Had a take away meal at a Chinese Restaurant... the owner asked me if I needed a receipt - which I thanked him for -... and the cash register receipt had a single digit number....'04' 🙄🙄🙄 really!! So was my meal the 4th sale for the year? ...Something wrong there.... Hmmm 🤨🧐🤔Guest review bySaviour - 8.0

Quick visit to Longreach with family via road and return via train to Brisbane. You could spend a few days to enjoy all Longreach and surrounds has to offer. Be aware that the town still tends to close Saturdays from 12 noon and all day Sunday so plan your time wisely. Distance can lengthy if behind road trains or caravans -with no real dedicated overtaking lanes- so be safe and allow extra time if travelling to a strict timetable. The Qantas museum is well worth the extra time spent on a few tours.Guest review byHelenAustralia - 10.0
Loved Charleville-- so much to see and do here.
Loved Charleville-- so much to see and do here. Very interesting and friendly town and easy to find your way around when driving. Loved the secret WW2 bunker and the cosmos-- day and night shows. The bilby show was also a winner.Guest review byGayleAustralia - 10.0
Cloncurry was an unexpected gem.
Cloncurry was an unexpected gem. Cloncurry unearthed (at tourist information) and ohn Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery are good value. Chinaman Creek Dam is a great place to watch sun up or sun down. Just to chill out and bird watch, if that's your thing. Mary Kathleen mine, although 4wd it's not too far from Cloncurry and worth the drive . We checked it out on our way to Mt Isa. Corella Dam & Clem Walton is only 55km, an easy day trip. You can swim or fish in the dam or free camp. We would happily stay again if travelling to the outback.Guest review byDianeAustralia - 10.0

The shop is great, be prepared to purchase for your grand kids! 2. Steak dinners at Tattersall's Hotel - awesome porterhouse. 3. The Musical Fence - what a lot of fun!Guest review byAleyshaAustralia - 10.0

Barcaldine is a wonderful place, wonderful history and great pride in the town. People ovbviously care about the town. I felt welcomed there. I particularly like the water ski area. It's a great asset to have. It was great to walk around the town and see so much of the history of the area. Thankyou Barcaldine.Guest review byGrahamAustralia - 10.0
The artesian spa and set up is almost new.
The artesian spa and set up is almost new. Very well equipped with friendly staff. Brilliant location on the banks of the Warrego River with cockatoos and other birds flying around. The information centre was helpful and I went to the railway history show. Covered the early days with bullock wagons, camels and finally trains to take wool to market as well as a passenger life line to other towns and Brisbane. A number of locals appear in the presentation.Guest review byMarkAustralia - 10.0

Blackall has an excellent information centre with very helpful staff. A map of the town with major attractions is available there. The hot baths are a great place to visit for the cost of $2. We also enjoyed the wool scour tour and the locals were very friendly and helpful. There is a walking track and some very good public art on various town buildings.Guest review byDeb McTaggartAustralia - 8.0

The town of Richmond had many lovely attractions...Kronosaurus Korner is not to be missed and has a cafe & good coffee. The lake has a walking path surrounding it, with the opportunity to fish for barra. The Mud Hut Motel where we dined both nights, had great food & service. The weather was perfectly cool, but sunny during our June stay.Guest review byLynnieAustralia - 10.0
