- From $304.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 2,146 reviewsWhile not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradiseGuest review byEktaUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 720 reviewsCook your own breakfast is a novel idea which wasn't clearly communicated and only on cracking a raw egg thinking it was boiled did I realise this was the case. It was a great experience to grill my own breakfast and enjoy the freshly baked bread after the rainforest hike neighbouring the venue. The spa bath and shower are great too.Guest review byGreg B.South Africa

The public transport system and cost is just amazing.
The public transport system and cost is just amazing. It made all the difference to our family holiday and the kids enjoyed it. Gold Coast is just beautiful. Theme Parks so easily accessible and the unlimited tickets are value for money. Sea World and Dreamworld our two most favorite. So many delicious food places.Guest review byRafferty - 10.0
Plenty to see in and about Cairns.
Plenty to see in and about Cairns. This was our base and with our own vehicle it was very easy to get around. We took the Sky Rail to Kuranda and returned by train to Freshwater Station and it was a most enjoyable experience. The train only runs twice a day therefore if wishing to return this way, then it pays to book in advance as train seats are limited. The Pier has an array of waterfront venues to choose from offering a variety of food. Most cafes and restaurants have a Menu on display outside the venue. There is even a Brewery further down near the Cruise Terminal. The decor and now the digital fish flooring is definitely worth a visit to the Casino. Good food opportunities here too! Centenary Lakes/Botanic Gardens, Copperlode Dam along with the Crystal Cascades at Redlynch and the Red Beret Hotel are must visits.Guest review bySandraAustralia - 8.0

We have been to Townsville before, so we have already been to Magnetic Island. Mt Stuart had amazing views over the whole area. Castle Hill was also good. Walking along the beachfront at The Strand was lovely 😍. Plenty of nice places to eat.Guest review byAnneAustralia - 8.0

It's a nice friendly little town close to Marinas that service Yachts in the Whitsunday Islands. There's a lovely village and resort feel to the shops with the best fish and chip shop on the planet. For a little town, it had plenty of Ubers, and easy to book shuttles that go to and from Prosepine Airport We stayed in Airlie one night before boarding a boat we'd hired at Coral Bay Marina. We breakfasted well, strolled around, and had fabulous cocktails on the beach front, before getting all our provisions at the major Woolworths and BWS there, and Uber-ing to the MarinaGuest review byLeitaAustralia - 8.0

Toowoomba is a great destination for a short getaway in Spring. The lead up to the Carnival of Flowers a perfect time to visit as the gardens are blooming and it is before the crowds. Queens Park, Picnic Point, Laurel Bank Park and Japanese Gardens are all in full bloom. A visit to Highfields and The Chocolate Shop was worth the short drive north. Lovely staff, tasty food and home made chocolate plus specialty shops on the green. Time to indulge. Back to the Ambassador hotel via Picnic Point and afternoon tea at the Restaurant looking out over the treetops then a visit to the Range Antiques.Guest review byGrogan - 10.0

I attended a cricket game at Harrup Park, which I had never been to before. Google maps made it easy to find and the facilities are amazing. One afternoon, I walked the Mackay Bluewater Trail. It was interesting and I felt safe on the trail.Guest review byKENAustralia - 10.0
Rockhampton Botanic Gardens incorporates a zoo.
Rockhampton Botanic Gardens incorporates a zoo. Entry to both is free. The gardens are extensive and very beautiful. There is a very nice cafe with tables under huge banyan trees which I enjoyed (excellent cappuccino). I also loved the zoo which contains a range of animals (mainly "rescue" animals). There are informative talks scheduled throughout the day. I was able to get close to many animals - my favourites were the cassowary, the dingoes, the emus, the wedge-tailed eagle and the funny little meercats. Unfortunately, I only had time to spend one day in the gardens. The tourist information office was very helpful. They gave me a bus timetable and a brochure about the area of Heritage buildings in the centre of town along the river. I enjoyed looking at the buildings and learning about their history. I also loved the art exhibition about Queensland in Rockhampton Art Gallery. I enjoyed my stay in Rockhampton very much.Guest review bySylviaAustralia - 10.0
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit.
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit. Greta spot to have as a base to visit surrounding areas. People were all really nice and helpful. We ate at Jungle Fowl awesome food, Tin Shed was great place to meet up with friends to enjoy the waterfront and the food was lovely, and Han Court Chinese was scrumptious. We did day trips to Cairns to catch boat to Fitzroy Island and enjoyed lunch there, had an amazing dinner at Coco's Kitchen in Cairns that night we both had a Lobster that was superb. Caught the train from Freshwater Station to Kuranda for the day, we paid for Gold Class which served great local food and drinks, fab trip up and back. We also did a Sunset cruise out of Port Douglas on Lady Douglas, that was nice.Guest review byLesleyAustralia - 10.0
