- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 2,222 reviewsWe were meant to stay from 7-16 Mar, cyclone hit and we were able to move our bookings to 28 Mar-6 Apr. We had 7 rooms during our stay (5 for 8 nights and 2 for 3 nights), x4 2 bedroom superior apts, x2 2 bedroom apts and x1 bedroom apt We did request and pay for 2 rooms on the ground. Right up until the day before we arrived, reception was not able to confirm our room numbers. If I'd known how far our 2nd room was going to be and how difficult it was going to be for our mum to go up/down the stairs to and from room, we would've asked to move rooms. We checked in quite late to the resort, so by the time we got in our room, unpacked and relaxed after our international flight, we'd already made ourselves comfortable and used the towels, bathrooms etc; when checking in I did keep telling the receptionist that we had our mum but that didn't seem to factor in her allocating the room. It was our fault for staying in the room. She just took her time walking around the resort Our room was very spacious and the arrival pack (eggs, bread, milk etc;) kids activity pack, free drinks/kids club/mini golf vouchers were much appreciated😊 even the road works outside the resort, you couldn't hear any extra noise where our rooms were located. We appreciated the washing machine and dryer. The resort having trolleys for shopping trips was handy to have. Car parking was a breeze and placed well within your room allocation. The gym was used frequently, games room visited by the kids/teenagers and the cinema was a hit with the under 5's The pools were amazing! there was something for everyone in our group (1yo to 60yo) was nice having the spas beside the pools too If something was broken or you needed an extra blanket, reported it to reception/rung house keeping and it was dealt with immediately. A1 service TIP: bring mat/old towel to use as door mat to wipe up wet floors when rainingGuest review byNayNew Zealand
- From $295.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 2,148 reviewsWhile not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradiseGuest review byEktaUnited States

Spacious well equipped and clean room. Great porch. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Lovely city with great transport options especially the ferry service. Easy city to navigate by car and we found parking not to be a problem. Southbank was a wonderful place to visit.. the waterpark was so good for families and there were lots of good dining choices around there.Guest review byLeeAustralia - 8.0
Found many of the small eateries in Surfers, wanting.
Found many of the small eateries in Surfers, wanting. Such as an Italian themed restaurant without coffee. A Vietnamese restaurant with food that was very mediocre and others that didn’t seem to know what customer service is. I can’t say this is true of the upmarket venues, but those referred to above were not the worst options. Driving is a nightmare due to tramway construction and narrow roads. Progress has not been kind to the Gold Coast I used to know.Guest review bySteveAustralia - 10.0
Plenty to see in and about Cairns.
Plenty to see in and about Cairns. This was our base and with our own vehicle it was very easy to get around. We took the Sky Rail to Kuranda and returned by train to Freshwater Station and it was a most enjoyable experience. The train only runs twice a day therefore if wishing to return this way, then it pays to book in advance as train seats are limited. The Pier has an array of waterfront venues to choose from offering a variety of food. Most cafes and restaurants have a Menu on display outside the venue. There is even a Brewery further down near the Cruise Terminal. The decor and now the digital fish flooring is definitely worth a visit to the Casino. Good food opportunities here too! Centenary Lakes/Botanic Gardens, Copperlode Dam along with the Crystal Cascades at Redlynch and the Red Beret Hotel are must visits.Guest review bySandraAustralia - 8.0

Townsville is great to walk around & get the feeling of the city. I stayed in Townsville city and walked all the way to Pallarenda Beach 8 kms each way.. which was great. (There was a City Bus available - just as back up for me..) Cycling would be great - I plan to take my bicycle next time so I can discover even more.. is less time. Other Townsville highlights * The Marina * The Tobruk Swimming Pool * Jezzine Barracks was really to visit. * Castle Hill - Day & Night visit is worth it! * The Townsville Railway Station.Guest review bySaviour - 10.0

Stunning weather, stunning views, friendly staff everywhere we went, Except for the bar on the right at the roundabout as you drop down into the main shopping area. (bar staff were rude) Went on a Red Cat Adventure snorkling & visit to an Island with the most stunning beach I have ever seen. Pristine sand and clear blue water. Skipper Mark & Deck crew Jade & Kobi were fantastic we highly recommend them.Guest review byLorenNew Zealand - 8.0

Toowoomba is a great destination for a short getaway in Spring. The lead up to the Carnival of Flowers a perfect time to visit as the gardens are blooming and it is before the crowds. Queens Park, Picnic Point, Laurel Bank Park and Japanese Gardens are all in full bloom. A visit to Highfields and The Chocolate Shop was worth the short drive north. Lovely staff, tasty food and home made chocolate plus specialty shops on the green. Time to indulge. Back to the Ambassador hotel via Picnic Point and afternoon tea at the Restaurant looking out over the treetops then a visit to the Range Antiques.Guest review byGrogan - 10.0
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit.
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit. Greta spot to have as a base to visit surrounding areas. People were all really nice and helpful. We ate at Jungle Fowl awesome food, Tin Shed was great place to meet up with friends to enjoy the waterfront and the food was lovely, and Han Court Chinese was scrumptious. We did day trips to Cairns to catch boat to Fitzroy Island and enjoyed lunch there, had an amazing dinner at Coco's Kitchen in Cairns that night we both had a Lobster that was superb. Caught the train from Freshwater Station to Kuranda for the day, we paid for Gold Class which served great local food and drinks, fab trip up and back. We also did a Sunset cruise out of Port Douglas on Lady Douglas, that was nice.Guest review byLesleyAustralia - 10.0
