- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 389 reviewsI absolutely loved our cabin. It was absolutely beautiful, the beds were super comfortable and a perfect size room for 2 adults and a child. We found the kitchen to be the best equipped kitchen in a cabin that we've ever had. The shower was to die for.Guest review byWildAustralia

Adelaide is the best city in Australia in my view.
Adelaide is the best city in Australia in my view. I love it and would be happy to live there if I did not have family in Victoria. Beautiful clean vibrant city. Easy to get around and lots to see and do. Friendly locals too! Highly recommend going there and to South Australia in generalGuest review byMaryAustralia - 10.0

We like Port Augusta but usually only stay one night because we're passing through. It has many challenges as a community and sometimes gets bad press BUT it is great place to spend at least two nights, and three if you want to relax as well as sight see. The Arid Lands Botanic Gardens are a favourite of ours - best to do a guided tour if you want to learn about our amazing desert flora - and it's OK to have a dog on a leash in a couple of areas. We'd planned to have an arid tasting plate, but the cafe was closing so we missed out on that. The Wadlata Outback Centre is definitely worth a -take-your-time visit and the Yarta Purtli Art Gallery too. The coastal walk is a highlight even if you only do some of it and the Standpipe Hotel's northern Indian menu is fabulous - as it has been for a long time.Guest review byCazAustralia - 8.0
A different world. Amazing scenery.
A different world. Amazing scenery. Breakaways must be seen. Go night noodling ,(hire special infra red lights). Only drive in still in use in South Australia. Great restaurants. Johns Pizza. Best pizza ever, also catered for gluten free. Eat inside or out. Always busy but worth dining in or take away. 360 Winch. Great meals. Perfect steaks. Souvenirs to the side. Pleasant to eat inside or out on the lawn area.Guest review bySharonAustralia - 10.0
A great little town. Friendly store keepers.
A great little town. Friendly store keepers. Lots of goodies to be found. And (most important for me,) the terrain is perfect to leave the car at the hotel and go for a long long walk! We brought our own food - mainly to save the pennies and the facility worked for us.Guest review byHeddle - 10.0

Great hotel next time I would book a river view as city view was just overlooking the carpark but the hotel itself was exceptional. Hotel food was really good and just 5 minutes is the beautiful Murray River which is a lovely walk .Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Easy access to wineries.
Easy access to wineries. Loved the ambience of Shut The Gate winery. Great meal in the Seven Hills pub. Art and crafts stores/galleries were not open. The Arts collective was supposed to be opened at 10am, we arrived on time, waited 8 minutes and no one came to open up - very disappointing! Would not visit Pikes winery again. We were not permitted to purchase a glass of wine and sit by the fire to drink it. We were the only people in the place at the time. We would have needed to purchase a full tasting experience to sit by its fire. Really folks!!Guest review byPatriciaAustralia - 8.0
No transport needs a car.
No transport needs a car. Winter main st shopping closes early. Lovely to browse through and a mall too. Granite Island is the SHOWPIECE. Horse drawn vintage carriage by Clydesdale's, tourists love it. Op shops fun for elderly folk and grandkids. A quiet in Winter destination. Lovely caravan parks . Books shops to browse new and olde , also found in nearby coastal towns. Bike riding to the Bluff outdoors adventures , surfing nearby. FUN TOWN /laidback too .Guest review byJEFFREYAustralia - 6.0

Unfortunately, the Town is obviously struggling with the Steel Plant issues and the Trades and others I spoke with on this trip were very negative about the current and future prospects of Whyalla. The Town in my opinion needs a Birthday. Looking very sad unfortunately. I wasn't working at the Steel Works on this visit, wasn't remotely connected to Industry in Whyalla or surrounding areas. it was in the Whyalla CBD. I visit Whyalla at least once per year.Guest review byDarenAustralia
