Batemans Bay has no Visitor Information Centre.
Batemans Bay has no Visitor Information Centre. The shoreline is amazing and the sunrises are glorious. Everything is in easy reach and easily reachable within walking distance. I find the 3pm close down a small issue. Its a great place to fish and swim and very close to Sydney and Eden. The Ocean Grill Fish and Chip shop on the waterfront was great the fish fresh and beautifully cooked, the chips very moreish. Lots of inexpensive and more expensive places to eat. We live Merimbula and have visited many times. Great beaches. Whale watching is amazing (June to October). Surrounding bush and national parks are perfect for hiking. A couple of great golf courses. In this case the visit was for a photographic tour. Nowra is the perfect base for playing tourist as most attractions are an easy drive away (half to an hour away). Accommodation is hugely expensive (hundreds or thousands $$$) in the tourist Meccas and mostly unavailable anyway. I recommend Nowra for an economic and hassle free stay.
