It was just an overnight stop returning from Canberra.
It was just an overnight stop returning from Canberra. The city is relatively large and sprawling and difficult to navigate with compulsory turns etc. Signs pointing to "i" information were confusing, but after I gave up looking for it, I found that it was in the library and quite helpful for maps and brochures of things to do. For someone not familiar with the area, Wodonga (over the river) is much easier to navigate. In the evening I had dinner at the pizza restaurant (in the main street of Albury), but they also have pastas, mains, salads etc, and I was happy with my choice. The following morning I went to Gateway Island, on the Victorian side of the river, planning to do the 4-5 km Gateway Island trail, but actually ended up doing the Crossing Place Trail just over the road which was also 4-5 km with sculptures and information along the river bank.Guest review byHelenAustralia - 10.0

Bright is picturesque and one of my favourite places to visit any time of the year. You can hire bikes (or bring your own) and ride the rail trail which mostly follows the river meandering alongside bush and farmlands. Mount Buffalo is close by for fantastic views, great bushwalks (outside of winter) and the beautiful old Chalet (currently closed but due to reopen in 2026). In winter you can also cross-country ski and toboggan at Mt Buffalo. The ski fields of Mt Hotham and Falls Creeks are just over an hour away. The canyon walk in the centre of Bright is beautiful and if you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of a platypus. There are a good range of restaurants, cafes & pubs and lots of gorgeous shops to browse - my favourites are Winding Road Design Studio and Bowerbird. If you have kids there is one of the best playgrounds and water play areas right on the river. All in all, Bright is fantastic - we have had many holidays there over the last 25 years and will keep returning as we love it so much. Each time we return we always find something a bit different to do, see or explore.Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 10.0
We went to Lake Eildon which is magnificant.
We went to Lake Eildon which is magnificant. The scenery is spectacular. Going for walks around Mansfield was really good and the shops were close where we stayed. We ate at the Mansfield Hotel and the food was very good. Also the bakery was a hub of activity and the food was really good.Guest review byGrinblat - 6.0

It has been over 20yrs since i have visited Buller in the Winter and stayed overnight. I found the B-Tag system not as user friendly as one would like. I tried topping up my daughters pass and in the end had to go to ticketing. fortunately the honoured the cheaper pricing. We ate at the Buller Chalet, great food and reasonable prices for the mountain. Staff here were lovely. Also ate at The Villager - excellent food and also good value. Staff here were great. Kofflers staff all amazing. I do believe however there really needs to be a cap on how many come to this mountain now. The bus loads of day trippers was something I have never ever seen in my life! Tim to either expand this resort or get a new mountain to open up!!Guest review bySilkyappleAustralia - 10.0

Partner is coeliac so he required gluten free food. Luca Restaurant served really tasty pizza. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was at Koffie Bean Cafe. The food (gluten free and regular) was great as well as my soy flat white and his hot chocolate. Very relaxed atmosphere, enjoyable.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border...
Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border. It lacks much in the way of heritage, with only the old railway station (now a trendy cafe area) as any real form of architecture. Albury is a bit more heritage-minded, although not the most pleasant of towns overall, with something of a rough reputation compared with its Victorian twin.Guest review byRailway TobyAustralia - 10.0
Friendly town. Enjoyed dinner at local pub.
Friendly town. Enjoyed dinner at local pub. Short drive to Yackandandah and Myrtleford towns. A pretty scenic area. Good drive from Sydney as a stop / stay then a shorter drive 4 hours or so to Melbourne the next day.Guest review byElizabethAustralia - 8.0
Falls Creek is easy to get around.
Falls Creek is easy to get around. Plenty of eating options, most reasonably priced. The weather you get what your given, but I do accept that when lifts close down, or are on wind hold , it is for the safety of the clients. Staff, lifty's were friendly and helpful. Every lift we went on the staff were friendly and greeted you with a smile and spoke and acknowledge your presence. Great team work.Guest review byEllenAustralia - 10.0
Benalla is a lovely town.
Benalla is a lovely town. This was our third time visiting as we pass through on the way from Sydney to Melbourne. The Botanic Gardens and Art galleries should not be missed. Taking a walk through the lovely shops and backstreets will reveal many interesting paintings on the walls. For longer stays there are also silo trails which need a car to explore. The locals are friendly and there are plenty of supermarkets and takeaways for convenient food.Guest review byGayle - 8.0
Location was great.
Location was great. For a short vacation it was a good place to stay. Property manager Whitney was very helpful right from booking to check out. Room could have been a bit bigger for more comfortable stay but you dont go to mount beauty to stay in a room so was alright.Guest review byKetSanAustralia
