United StatesKatrien & Alejandro are the friendliest and most hospitable individuals! We arrived a day earlier by mistake. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Hot and tired, they offered us something to drink as well as the password to their wifi so we could find another place to stay.
When we arrived the next day, we felt instantly welcomed. They showed us our spacious, clean and lovely room as well as offered us a "welcome drink."
The room was quiet and clean and furnished with an eye for beauty and functionality. The bed was super comfortable and the place is located in a family-oriented area near many restaurants and markets within walking distance and close to the center of town. There is no elevator. Only steps lead to your room. It might not be a place for u if u have mobility issues.
If u like gelato, Gelato Factory hand dipped their waffles cones fresh to order. There is a queue, but it goes quickly.
The Qpark Kooldok is the closest underground parking. Reserve in advance. Show the QR code in the parking machine to enter and exit as well as to the door to enter the parking.
It was a pity that we had to leave early the next day and didn't get a chance to have the breakfast everyone was raving about. Next time I'm in Antwerp, I would love to stay at Manana Manana again!! Thank you Katrien and Alejandro for everything!!!

United StatesWas the perfect stay for Tomorrowland! Everyone was so kind and considerate and went out of their way to make my stay wonderful. It was great to have daily drop off and pick up to Tomorrowland and not have to worry about the logistics. They also arranged the airport pickup from ANR, did my laundry within 24 hours and even gave me late checkout. The hotel is located in a quiet area which was a nice break from all the chaos at the festival. Breakfast was amazing with fresh squeezed oranges and eggs made to order! Dinner was very impressed as well and seemed like it was prepared with lot of care. I loved my four days at Essenza and would love to come back!

Lovely laid back city.
Lovely laid back city. We went to see the James Ensor artworks at the KMSKA - Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp and spent most of the day there as there is so much to see. Although James Ensor was born and lived in Oostende, he left much of his art to the gallery.
Be prepared to walk as the ares of interest can be quite far apart. There is a tram system although we didn't use it.

Mechelen has very many historical things.
Mechelen has very many historical things. It was once a cultural center of Burgundian dynasty. Wish they keep their history and culture for long! Who can forget Charles V of Hapsburg and his aunt? He spent his early years here in this city with his aunt when he became an orphan.

Lier is a hidden gem; it is a very pretty city with plenty of bars and restaurants. There are some good local attractions (Zimmer tower, The Beguinage, and St Gommarus Chruch with its Gothic architecture) you can also have a lovely walk down the river that runs through the heart of the city. It's only a short train ride from Antwerp and about a 50-minute train journey from Brussels.

Brasschaat has great dog walking places which is convenient since we always travel with our dog, it has a classy residential hub, calm and peaceful, and it is still near to the city of Antwerp, making it easy to visit the old city or have business events.

Geel has a rich and varied history.
Geel has a rich and varied history. There was fierce World War Two fighting here a prelude to the massive Airborne operation, the subject of the film "A Bridge too Far". On the other hand the town pioneered the care of the mentally ill in the community as opposed to institutions about 150 years ago.
Also has great restaurents around the town square.

Stayed for a nearby football tournament. Friendly, immaculate town with a really nice hotel in which we stayed. A couple of good coffee houses and a good supermarket.
I'm sure there's more to it, but we were there for the football.

Really enjoyed the Museum aan de Stroom and the Cathedral. Tram system works well for getting around. Traffic through the Kennedy tunnel and round the ring road was awful (perhaps partly due to the closure of the Waasland tunnel).

Surprisingly good !
Surprisingly good ! Been to various places in Belgium numerous times, but this was the first time in Mechelen. Found plenty of places to eat and drink within 8-10 minutes or so walk from the hotel. Also some decent shops in the town centre.

Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet. There is a lot of history here and the canals and waterways are very beautidul. There is something for everyone, the town square is surrounded by good restaurants, the buildings are interesting and full of history. If you like walking or cycling there are plenty of well marked trails and an abundance of wildlife in the rivers and canals. You can take a boat trip in the old flat bottomed eel boatsand the guides are very knowledgable and interesting. There are good transport links witht he station being on the edge of town, just a 15 minute walk into the centre. The town Hall is a beautiful building. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We will be coming back.
