Enjoyed Grote Market and seeing the other sites of the city.
Enjoyed Grote Market and seeing the other sites of the city. Waffles were overrated. Chocolate was very good. You can bathe in the history and architecture of the city and that was wonderful. Surprised that it was not especially clean and the graffiti seemed everywhere. These issues soiled an otherwise great lady. It is only a short train ride to Bruges and I would recommend the day trip.Guest review byKeithUnited States - 10.0

I could have easily stayed another day but two days were fine. I took a wonderful English guided tour at the cathedral with the Rubens’ paintings, went to Rubens’ garden and audio-visual tour-his house is closed for renovations. Went through the Planting-Moretus museum, DIVA museum. Went to the top of the MAS museum. Took a ferry across the river and walked back through St. Anna’s tunnel. I was able to walk everywhere, even from the train station.Guest review byDonUnited States - 10.0

Bruges is undoubtedly stunning, but they certainly know how to charge for the experience - everything and everywhere was extremely expensive. In many places it was difficult to pay in cash, which was a problem. Public toilets all charge a euro, so be prepared with some small change, but they are not of a very good standard. I highly recommend the boat trips, the Gruuthus museum (which hardly anyone seems to go to) and the House of Waffles, where the staff and the waffles are all wonderful.Guest review byJosephineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A gem in Belgium, where bicycles rule and there is a laid back feeling... I felt it was a bit like central Amsterdam with the canals, boats and cafés and bikes. There are many things to visit, if you are into culture, and the clothes shopping is very tempting! You can find any type of cuisine, it seems, and the prices are decent for the quality and volume served. I found the service everywhere quick and efficient, and every time I asked to speak in English it was met with a 'no problem' response. The river boat trip lasting about 40 mins means you can see the town from another angle and brush up on your history.Guest review byMarie-ChristinePortugal - 8.0

Nice places to visit in the city, plenty of restaurants and shops. Sea side is very good and well maintained, very clean. Easy to move around, Tram and train station, all usable with your bank card. Usually plenty of carpark places all over the city. We drove around from here to other city's like Bruge and Ghent and it was fast and it is amazing how they kept the speed limits quite high even in the city. Well done Belgium.Guest review byV - 10.0

Blankenberge is for my family a special vacation destination. We like it due to the convenient transport, the train stops in the center of the city. The city is not big and has its charm, by walking it is possible to reach each attraction. The tram allows you to go to the other cities and towns located along the Belgian coast. Therefore, your trip can be even more attractive.Guest review byAnonymousBelgium - 8.0

Such a great city that shouldn't be overlooked when planning your visit to Belgium. Has such a nice college city vibe to it that was a nice alternative to the very touristy vibes of Bruges and Brussels.Guest review byM. KnappUnited States - 4.0

Visiting the beach of Knokke Heist helps me understand even more why people come to Greece for summer vacation. The sea is a joke... Greece, the land of blue skies and crystal clear waters... The sea in Knokke is grey at best!!!Guest review byTheodorosGreece - 2.0

Our stay was disappointing due to poor cleanliness, inadequate amenities, and understaffing, with malfunctioning air conditioning and privacy breaches. Its inconvenient location led to frequent transportation issues, and unhelpful staff showed little concern despite complaints. Overall, the experience was far from comfortable or restful, and we do not recommend this hotel.Guest review byequbazgiSwitzerland - 10.0

Good choice of restaurants with some posh chocolate shops and good beers. Quite a good range of chain stores and niche smaller shops. Really like its compactness and easy train ride from Brussels. Visit Hasselt tourist centre is about 50m from our hotel Het Menneke. Hasselt Greeters offer free personal introduction to Hasselt. The Japanese Garden, the largest in Europe, is well worth a visit. Best restaurant we found was de Orangerie, sited in a long atrium. Nice menu includes Flemish favourites. Attentive staff. Best bar is Koks&Tales, a slick cocktail bar.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom
