We were really only passing through, between Sofia and...
We were really only passing through, between Sofia and Nessebar. We spent a fine day exploring nearby Sozopol - an old fishing port caked in history and with interesting churches. Consequently we didn't have much chance to explore Burgas itself. There were plenty of fine bars and restaurants, but Burgas is not really a spectacular holiday destination, compared to the nearby Black Sea resorts.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I had an amazing experience there. A wonderful and to my every very nice receptionists whom replied to my every request. The rooms and the hotel are very clean and located in a great place just next to the beaches and the bus station. A true hidden gem of Bulgaria, our favourite place in the country. We like the off-season to visit when it's less crowded and a little cooler. You don't need to plan anything here, just wandering the cobbled streets, admiring the wooden buildings, saying hi to local cats, and browsing market stalls can fill your day. Avoid the road between Varna and Nessebar, it is damaged and congested. Personally, I used DN5 Ruse-Polikraiște 90 km (very congested), then DN53 Polikraiște-Elena-Sliven-Krușare 133 km (superb, through the mountains, very free and recently renovated almost completely), A1 Krușare-Burgas 90 km, DN9 Burgas -Ravda 40 km (crowded but recently built as an expressway bypassing the resorts.Guest review byMarianRomania - 8.0

cheap, big and delicious doner kebabs,crepes and pastry around every corner, wouldn't bother going to a bulgarian restaurant there tho. The restaurants are a disappointment. Beautiful beaches. The town doesn't offer much to do but if you come because of the sea its great! Keep in mind that to travel to the destination from airport you are gonna need to take a bus or a taxi. If you don't want to spend 50€ for a taxi for an hour long ride you should catch a flight in the morning or noon so there is a bus available because you probably won't catch one during the evening or night.Guest review byJakub - 10.0
