We enjoyed our trip to João Pessoa, and the reason for being there was to run the João Pessoa Marathon. It was supposed to start at 4:30 AM, but they decided to start at 4:00 AM without any warning about the change. That was a kick on the shin because they had a set of rules, but they themselves don't observe them. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and disheartened. Yes, I did finish it! The two restaurants we liked the most were "Sapore D'Italia" and "Canoa Restaurant." The only two fun activities we had were walking on the beach and running the Marathon. It was enough for us. Very pretty beaches, but no real tourist safety. No with exception of jacuma city, no facilities around the other beaches. No restaurants, cafes, shops, kiosk or even taxis to get back to the hotel. I was very positively impressed by the city. It is beautiful and, of course, the people are fantastic: helpful, smiling, talkative.
