Great host, beautifully renovated farm house, beautiful peaceful garden, delicious breakfast. The only little thing : the bed frame is squeaking but mattress and pillows are very comfy. The room is full of light and very homy. The bathroom is spotless , big and have all the necessary modern amenities. A very pleasant home away from home.

Pleasant two nights stay in Kamouraska.

Pleasant two nights stay in Kamouraska. If you are on our way to Gaspé or back take advantage of this beautiful village. Best time to visit Thursday to Sunday. Monday to Wednesday the restaurant we liked is closed (Coté-Est). One night is feasible but is short. Cool down on the public beach, read a book and enjoy the sunset. End of Juin begining of July there are a lot of roses in bloom. Beautiful.

Just an amazing area with nature all around.

Just an amazing area with nature all around. The SEPAQ park Le Bic is heaven on earth. With the ocean at its doorstep it is a very beautiful park that reminds me of Vancouver Island. I did the Pic Champlain and Le Tour Cap-à-l'Orignal. The village of Le Bic is very quaint and attractive. The village is located above the main route 132 and the main road runs parallel to this. I envy those who live there with the view of the park and the river beyond. Simply paradise!

Cabano is so much more than what you see from the highway. The town was so pretty. The park is amazing. If you are travelling through (we travel from NB to ON) Cabano is a great place to stop and take a break or stay overnight. I would have enjoyed at least one full day and another night to explore.

We were unable to stay at the hotel, Le Cheval Noir, for...

We were unable to stay at the hotel, Le Cheval Noir, for which i had made reservations for two reasons: 1. We ran into major road construction on the 20 East, (we were coming from Montreal) and realised that we were going to be arriving after 8 p.m. (the time that the hotel was still supposed to be open until). I attempted to contact the hotel several times from 7 pm until 7:45pm to let them know that we would be late but nobody answered the phone. We were not even able to speak with anybody of our late arrival. We were not even able to leave a message. (see #4) 2. Due to these road constructions we were diverted away from the 20 East and ended up on the road to New Brunswick thereby bypassing our intended route which would have led us to Trois Pistoles. So we were totally unable to even drive to this hotel. Thirdly, on our return trip to Montreal on Mon, Sep 8, we were able to find the correct road along the 20 West, passing through Trois Pistoles, so we decided to visit this hotel anyway and explain to them why we did not show up on Sep 2. However the establishment had signs posted on the door and windows claiming that they were closed. So we were not able to speak with anyone there. #4: it was only through these attempts at trying to speak to somebody at the hotel that we discovered that this hotel was actually a Youth Hostel!!! A voice had indicated this when we tried contacting them. So I'm now trying to contact Booking.com to have my booking fee refunded. An amount of 133.28 CAD paid through PayPal.

Motel had a very nice restaurant open from 5:AM until 9:PM.

Motel had a very nice restaurant open from 5:AM until 9:PM. Indoor pool exercise room. Slot Machines were available. The room had a fridge and large screen TV. The room was very large and could accommodate a wheel chair without concern. The bathroom was also large enough for a wheel chair. The motel had drive up style rooms as well as hotel style with an elevator. The hotel rooms were spotless and beds were comfortable and room was very quiet. After a seven hour drive we had a very good sleep. The hotel/ motel is just of the highway and is easy to get back onto the highway. This hotel is located approximately half way on my trip and its location makes it a great spot for an overnight stay.

We could walk from the hotel to the many restaurants as well as along the waterfront for daily sunsets. We drove to the recommended attractions (parc du Bic, route des monts notre dame, Portes de l'enfer) With good sunny weather, we had a relaxing four days of local tourist fares
