We stayed here during our honeymoon and the staff, especially Amy was absolutely amazing. We’ve got an upgrade to a room with a breathtaking view and a sweet surprise with a card. The room was very clean, big and comfortable. We also tried the Big Beach Lounge and the food there was exceptional good and Libby our waitress there was such a friendly and lovely person. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the building had such a great energy about it. Our room was lovely, beautiful wallpaper and decor. the bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were so soft. As well the house coat fit perfectly, they are usually small on me and I appreciated the big comfy housecoats after a nice soak in the jacuzzi bath with lovely bath salts. great stay!

I was originally going to be here for four nights but unfortunately the WiFi was too slow for me to work here. The - amazing - everything-else outweighs that though if you’re not working while here :) I stayed in the cabin and loved the details, the fireplace, the view (!!), the shower, the bed.. all of it. I had breakfast here and it was also super great, cooked perfectly and clearly good ingredients. (New ownership from what I was told :)) Everyone who worked here was kind and accommodating and they allowed me to cancel after the first night since I couldn’t stay because of the internet. That was very much appreciated! Will be back on a long weekend sans work to stay … and kayak when the weather allows it ✨

Real, real classy hotel and you can easily see that at the front entrance where you're immediately greeted by valet in long stylish black coat. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Entire hotel exudes warmth in low-key luxury decor and definitely worth revisits over and over again if you're looking for a good holiday retreat. Rated No. 1 hotel in Canada in 2021 Visit the Pub if you can and try getting a table by the window with views to the hotel spa / open sea. Food is actually quite good, much exceeded our anticipation.

Lovely hotel and location. Our stay was short so did not use spa, pools etc. But we went for a wonderful walk through a nut farm and neighborhood with beautiful houses to admire! The lake was beautiful. Wish we had had a longer stay planned here! Room was comfortable and clean. Good coffee. Close to restaurants, starbucks and some stores. Only complaint is can't check in til 5pm and have to be out by 10 am. Most hotels 3 or 4 pm check in, and 11 am check out.

We've stayed at the Watermark before, and loved the location. We get a suite with a view of the Lake. The facility is always very clean, and has everything we need. It was winter, but we could see people enjoying the very large hot tub, We had lunch at the Watermark restaurant, and really enjoyed our very tasty meal. Our suite provided lovely bathrobes and the beds were exquisitely comfortable.

We really enjoyed the Secwepemc Museum. It was a little complicated to find and the museum is not big but well presented and organized and easy to navigate. The stories of the culture of the Secwepemc people, government involvement, and the boarding school were all well told and illustrated. The small gift shop had some interesting material for sale.

This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way around most of the city and beyond, but it is always a great place to be. We love the well planned Harbour walkways, many events in the parks, the beach trails. Our favourite beach walks are Piper's Lagoon and Neck Point. There are many good music venues, restaurants, scenic drives and walks. We easily found side roads that were basically parallel to the highway to get to and from downtown. Nanaimo has has a LOT to offer any visitor of any age! Can't wait to return!
