- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 825 reviewsWe love Spring Lake Resort and try to come every year. It’s location overlooking Spring Lake is so peaceful and idyllic. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We have a barbecue beside the lake every night. It’s never crowded and we enjoy the use of the free water sport items. The lake’s size makes it ideal for swimming as it’s much warmer than the larger lakes. We’ll be back again next year. Thank you Irene and Patrick!Guest review byAndreaUnited Arab Emirates

Pembroke was the place to go for our childhood camping trips and having family in the area. My return as an adult on my own was wonderful, love the history and the plaques on the wharf front, the 100 yr old logs washed up on the shore now drift wood, the surrounding scenic view was outstanding, lots if various choices for dining out, I don’t have nothing negative to say about Pembroke, I can only say I can’t wait to return to soak up the scenic view of the Ottawa Valley.Guest review byThomson - 10.0

Is a great starting point to hit some nice scenery and good roads for motorcycle riding. The Wilno Tavern just east of the town is fantastic for Polish food along with great Polish history (as the first Polish settlement). Lots of great small spots to stop and enjoy such as Bent Anchor Resto-bar in Cobermere.Guest review byDave MageeCanada - 10.0
I go to Dwight to "recharge my batteries".
I go to Dwight to "recharge my batteries". It's quiet - it's close to Algonquin Park but also close to Huntsville if you feel the need to be around people. I enjoy travelling during the shoulder season. There is a small grocery/butcher/drug store within an easy walk. I was amazed at the variety they had in such a small space and very helpful if you have any questions. If you feel the need to stay "connected" there is strong wifi available.Guest review byJohnCanada - 8.0
The local brew pub was great - excellent food and fantastic...
The local brew pub was great - excellent food and fantastic beers, very good service. Bancroft is known as a mineral capital with a small but excellent mineral museum. There is also an interesting historical museum and an active cultural community. Many artists live in the area and offer wonderful paintings and other creations at local stores. There are some lovely cafes offering great baked goods and tasty light lunches. There are nature trails, great camping and fishing, and off trail vehicles to rent as well as canoes, other boats and catamarans. There are a number of parks for children including a skateboard park. The August long weekend [ first weekend of the month] offers Bancroft's Rockhound Gemboree, a world reknowed gem and mineral show with great specimens for sale. There are also some excellent tourist shops offering gifts and items for the whole family at reasonable prices. Don't forget to drive down the side streets to find interesting shops and restaurants. Alice's Pantry offers bulk food products, and specialty, ethic and local options and home cooked meals. We took advantage of the daily evening special to save on restaurant costs.Guest review byDeirdreCanada - 10.0

Loved the location, so many spots to explore! Had a great dinner at The Lock’s and enjoyed a meal at Michael’s Table. Beautiful park areas , getting around was very easy. For a busy downtown, parking was not too bad .Guest review byLaurieCanada - 10.0

Smith falls was great.... middle town to launch trips to Perth/ Almonte/ Merrickville and Brockville. Many great restaurants and a haven of great chip stands...staples as well (Tim horton / Harvey/ Swiss Chalet ) local Walmart and Giant tiger. Pretty town with old history and the river locks are very interesting - workers there are happy to give you the workings of the locks. EnjoyGuest review byLindaCanada - 6.0
Unless you are really into nature this place isn't for you.
Unless you are really into nature this place isn't for you. You are surrounded by trails and trees taller than I'd ever seen. You must pay attention to the roads because they are very hilly and windy. There's barely any streetlights so if you're driving in the dark it's really dark! We went to Algonquin park and a few museums in the area. Gleb park has a fantastic sculpture forest! There's Kate's burger corner that's a great place for take out too!Guest review byAmericaCanada - 8.0

Loved that there was a river trail ending in a park right across the street for our dogs to run around after a long day of driving. Nice little pub/restaurant out back for sundowner and dinner. Accomodation was very goodGuest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
Splendid location near to Haliburton.
Splendid location near to Haliburton. This very special cottage is in a superb setting. My family and I had a wonderful stay. We visited from England so we really appreciated how well-equipped and homely it was. Even had a canoe and kayak to use. Life jackets not provided but we found these easily at the shopping mall in Haliburton - unisex adult for about $48 each which we felt gave really good value for hours of kayaking. Great deck, pontoon, outdoor furniture, fire pit, stylish and thoughtful touches everywhere. Host provided lots of information about the local amenities. Wish we could have stayed longer. Made memories that will stay with our family a lifetime.Guest review byAnonymous
