Grande Prairie is a wonderful city that truly has every amenity you could need. From shopping and dining to recreation and community services, everything is easily accessible and well developed. It’s also a perfect base for exploring the region—you can visit so many great places nearby while still enjoying the comfort and convenience of the city. Grande Prairie combines small-town warmth with big-city amenities, making it an excellent place to live in or visit.

It was more hilly than expected .

It was more hilly than expected . Traffic was never busy and moved well . However, too may pot holes on Hwy 63 so hard on the car if not careful. The downtown area was laid back and easy to drive. Peter Pond Mall was okay. Also liked McDonald Island and going to the Giant's game . The stadium was nice. Canada Day Parade was enjoyable for families.

Peace River gets a bad reputation but it has a lot of good to offer. The level of restaurants and activities available is far beyond what I would expect from a small northern town. Pleasantly surprised.

We always enjoy the sandy Devonshire beach where we can walk for miles and collect driftwood. The lake water is shallow close to the beach and is ideal for kids to splash around in. It is very wild and undisturbed. Fishing is excellent. Bird watchers can see migrating warblers in the fall and visit the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation for interesting information about bird species in the forest. There is a small gift shop.

I was very impressed with the number of businesses that High Level offers the public. I had landed at the airport many times but that does not give one an idea of what the town is like. I have spent two nights in High Level and the town seems to have a very progressive feel to it.

Very beautiful place and the lake is so peaceful. Lac la Biche has everything that you need to make your stay perfect. The dark, star filled skies and northern lights are absolutely amazing to see. V & H drive in restaurant has terrific food and service. Sir Winston Churchill provincial park is easy to find and the mission beach area is lovely.

Stayed here during my drive from Texas to explore Canada. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The hotel was in a great location with fabulous breakfast at restaurant nextdoor. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Being able to park right in front was convenient for bringing luggage inside. I’d certainly stay here again if I’m back up this way!

    Nice little town.

Nice little town. More amenities that I thought it would have. Unfortunately we were there when the fires were burning so it was difficult to go outside. We spent time in our hotel pool and the Recreation center. Lovely center. Everyone was friendly.

    Manning is over his peak!!!!!!

Manning is over his peak!!!!!! The closed motels are witness of a way better time as now. But if you see the prices in that Town you pay, than you understand why everyone drive through without taking any“ Services” the town provided. Rip off on the gas station ( 9 ct ) more as in Peace River, Accommodation 137,- CAD for a single Room or the cheaper option 100.- CAD for an Motel from the late 60's not enough Bandwith to do anything on the Computer and the mattresses are from the same time. The food I only can recommend is the Food from the Chinese Restaurant. The other “Restaurants are the theme Rip off as the rest of the town.

Where I stayed, I could walk from and to the airport. All my movements within Grande Prairie was done on foot. I travel light. Only with my backpack. So, I had no need of taxi or any other form of motor vehicle transportation. Next time I return, I will either rent or buy a bicycle to visit further places.
