From the moment we saw the hotel from outside we were impressed, although no big foyer or entrance with the grandeur, the position was fabulous, and the Christmas vibe was beautiful. I thought i would ask if it was possible to have a christmas tree put in our room - didn't think it was likely to happen but they did and it bought a tear to my eye as i have dreamt of a white Christmas with my fmaily for many years and this was the cherry on top. Thank you Le Capitol for making one of my bucket lists items so special and a memory that will stay with me and my family forever.

love Montreal for the whole vibe.. the mix of French and English, the nightlife, Old Port and Old Montreal. Saint-Viateur bagels, honey-cruller donuts, maple syrup cookies, poutine.. but most of all the sweet and friendly people. Downtown has a soul, it feels alive in a way no other city does. I was born there, and even after 20 years away, it’s still as beautiful and special to me.

The off/on bus is a MUST. Try to do it your first day. Notre Dame Cathedral was beautiful. A walk through the Plains of Abraham and the Parliament Buildings are close together and well worth seeing. Many small areas just to walk around in and see the sights. Was disappointed in the museum of civilization. Too many lovely restaurants to chose from. Our favorites were the Cafe de Paris and Polina Pizzeria. In the old city everything you want to see you can walk to. Bring good walking shoes. Lots of hills.

The Cape Shrine is a beautiful and tranqualizing pilgreamge place. The Le Temps D'une Pinte is a good place to finish the day with good food, good local beers, and good service. Unfortunately and fortunately, we expereinced the first snow of the year and so could not go on foot to enjoy the history of the buildings in the downtown area, but then the snow added the beauty to the city.
