Great communication beforehand, which made getting to the hotel to from the airport very easy. Staff were all super friendly and couldn't help enough with any issues or questions. Room clean, tidy, comfortable and more than adequate. Breakfast to die for 😍 everything from cereals, fruits, juices, breads, cold meats, cheeses, sausages, hummus, salad, eggs (fantastic egg scrambling machine) and even make your own waffles. Basel was a beautiful city. Interesting to see, everyone very friendly. Eating out was great too. Would thoroughly recommend a trip to Basel and definitely stay at the Krafft Basel Hotel. It was so hot out they offered us water bottles every time we passed the desk. Even for our two dogs! Who they treated like royalty with a mat & dog bowls in the room. The free mini bar was awesome! We were so hot when we arrived, it was awesome to have cold water, juice & beer in the room to drink. We stayed in Basel for a week, using it as a transit point for traveling to other cities in the area: Colmar, Luzerne, and Freiburg. Basel itself has easily enough to see for three full days: interesting museums, beautiful architecture, cathedrals, dining, etc. If you stay for more than a day you get a Basil Pass which allows you to use public transit for free. Basel has a mix of old buildings, many museums (~40), lots of interesting streets and alleyways as well as a full range of good quality shops and restaurants. Very enjoyable to walk along the tree lined paths along the Rhine too, where you can find numerous drink stalls and openings to restaurants.
