I stayed two days, which was my plan, but the weather was...
I stayed two days, which was my plan, but the weather was really bad. Lots of rain and wind. In decent weather, this would be a terrific city to explore. In the rain, I had to dodge into (beautiful) churches to keep dry, and to just make sure I wasn't out too much in the bad weather. But be aware that the famous column, for which Olomouc is so well known, is undergoing a complete renovation and is surrounded by scaffolding, so you can't see it. This won't be completed until 2027, unfortunately. But I found some good restaurants, and speaking a bit of Czech really helped me a lot. Kromeriz is a still overlooked jewel in Moravia. There are lovely places to stay and plenty of culture and sights when you get there. I have been to the Chateau several times and barely scratched the surface! The art gallery there is amazing and there are other guided tours to enjoy. Weather permitting, the Chateau gardens are well worth a visit, and there is also a town museum on the main square, where you will also find lovely cafes.Guest review byClare K.Czech Republic - 10.0

Terrible...Dated....
Terrible...Dated....Shocking, stained carpets, broken floor tiles. Really bad aroma, Pool area looks like a storage dump for old furniture. We left after 5 mins. Nice city, its possible to visit all historical places in one day if u r in hurry, if u want to enjoy the place, its perfect for 2-4 days of staying. Most of these places are closed to each other. Fantastic place to visit - lots to do. We visited Flower Gardens, Mirror Maze, Chateau + gardens, outdoor swimming pool. Hotel Bouček is our favorite place to stop for a night near the border. The location is in the heart of a very nice, small, old town Kromeriž. there is a big central square, where you can park your car, and here are several long working, nice places to eat.
