- From $158.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 550 reviewsWe couldn’t have had a better experience - we didn’t want to leave. Without a doubt please book here - you’ll want to wish you could stay longer. We arrived to a charming bed and breakfast and had booked 7 of the 8 rooms. All rooms had wonderful character with three having balconies overlooking the vineyard. Wine was available for purchase - we had happy hour watching the sunset. It was a 20 min walk/3 min drive to the Christmas markets. We returned and capped the night with local wine surrounded by beautiful holiday decor in their restaurant. Breakfast was included and it felt like we were in a magazine. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you to the hosts! We hope to return!Guest review byJenUnited States
- From $161.39 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 871 reviewsExtremely friendly staff. We arrived late but the staff was very helpful to help us with parking and still let us order something from the bar. Breakfast had a nice variety, and the other hotel guests all said "Good morning" to each other. Wonderful location on the Rhine river, fantastic for a morning or evening walk. Room had heated flooring, which was a welcome surprise in the winter. Multiple electric car chargers nearby.Guest review byFamilyOf4_in_GermanyGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 809 reviewsThis place is perfect. I would give it a 10+ if it had it on booking.com. This a family-owned establishment and they quite obviously understand hospitality. Coming from Switzerland, I can appreciate quality and here they paid attention to every small detail. It's strategically located for exploring the region, they have a fabulous restaurant with excellent food. And they venerate wine (which is also very good).Guest review byRichardSwitzerland
- From $152.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 1,103 reviewsThe included buffet breakfast was amazing! I can't get over how good these European breakfasts are. I skip the needless carbs (wonderful sweet rolls, bread, etc.) and head for the fresh cut fruit, yoghurt, and muesli. The bonus here was a hot buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. I was fully fueled for a long bike ride, and also brought along some apples and kiwis for the rest of the day on the bike.Guest review byCAPT PUnited States

Room was proper and clean just like a hotel, and the best thing is I got the whole 6-bed room to myself on the last night of stay. Staffs were super helpful as well. Nothing to complain, I had a good night of sleep, and I love everything including this small pretty town beside the rhine. Thank you so much.Guest review byLalinThailand

The catles on the Rhein and Moselle were fascinating. Especially good is Marksburg. Koblenz is quite large so there was quite a lot of walking. The city centre still feels like a destination - no boarded-up shops!Guest review byGarethUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The town is a tourist magnet, but for those who know the Rheingau also a Mecca, neighbouring Gesienheim has the University where many Rheingau wine makers will have studied. The whole Rheingau is within reach, the steep Rüdesheim vineyards above the town are wonderful and peaceful for walking, those with less energy can take the chairlift. We tried the Spanish restaurant near the Bahnhof and Breuer's Schloss restaurant opposite (4 metres away) from the Hotel Lindenwirt where we stayed and also ate and drank. They had some nice (think craft) alco free beers.Guest review byDr. MichaelGermany - 10.0
Boppard is a pretty town and small enough to be able to get...
Boppard is a pretty town and small enough to be able to get anywhere on foot. There are many bars and restaurants. The weather was hot during our visit, so we spent most evenings in the Ebertor Biergarten overlooking the Rhine. Food and drink there were good and reasonably priced. We also made several visits to the De Lorenzi Eiscafe. There are a lot of great and well marked walking trails (Traumschleifen) nearby - you can pick up printed copies of these at the Tourist Information in the town or online. The Sesselbahn cable car is a must for great views of the Rhine. Boppard is a great base from which to explore the Rhine Gorge. There are many castles to visit (we particularly enjoyed Marksburg) and many cruise lines stop at Boppard. We took the KD Nostalgie cruise to Bacharach (2 hours each way, with 3.5 hours for lunch and to explore Bacharach) and would thoroughly recommend this.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine.
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine. Only basic impressions as this was a stop over night en route between Bavaria and the UK. Atmospheric market place, guesthouse just a few steps away and excellent bakery for breakfast made up for a largely rainy night. Would definitely be a candidate for further exploration in the area.Guest review byAshley WilliamsUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Its a small Rhine River town with a nice selection of stores. It's quiet and an old castle you can walk or drive up to. It's a great small town to take a break within short dive to explore other Rhine towns north and south of St Goar.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 10.0
Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany.
Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany. I had one day to explore Germany before meeting up with my tour group, and I read Rick Steve's Germany book and he recommended the Rhine Valley. He also recommends Bacharach as a city to set up base in. Bacharach is such an interesting town! So much history, much of the original buildings are still intact and in use. I did the Bacharach historical walk from Rick Steve's book and it took about an hour and a half. So relaxing and enriching. there's also a K-D tour boat that stops in Bacharach so you can travel up and down the Rhine and view sites such as the Lorely,Guest review byPowley - 10.0
Bingen is touristy.
Bingen is touristy. This is not a place for people who are looking for solitude. The ferry takes you straight to Rüdesheim and you can explore the vineyards from there. In the city you can find restaurants, butchers, bakeries and shops. The city is safe and friendly.Guest review byChristophGermany - 6.0

Very nice: ancient, historic buildings, very green and garden-rich surrounding, a lot of benches to sit down and enjoy the view on lovely river Lahn. Not so nice: the « heart » of the village called Roemerstrasse shows a lot of closed shops/empty spaces, conveying a bit the « look & feel of a ghosttown ». That was very much different in former times when it was pulsating with a lot of boutiques and other shops.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Koblenz is a beautiful city with a lot to see.
Koblenz is a beautiful city with a lot to see. Has a number of castles and churches to visit, and excellent restaurants. A number of sights to visit throughout the city. Rented a car and drove to some castles of the many that are in the region. The city is safe to walk around. Numerous sights to see around the city, such as, Basilica St Castor, Liebfrauenkirche, Deutsches Eck; where the River Mosel and River Rhine come together and massive statute of Emperor Wilhelm i, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, Schloss Stolzenfels, and Jesuitenplatz. City worthwhile to visit with a lot of sights to see.Guest review byJoseUnited States - 10.0

I came to Rüdesheim for peace and quiet and beautiful scenery, and I was not disappointed! I did observe that the tourist crowd tends toward older people. The Drosselgasse can get quite lively during the evening, but on a Monday night, the whole town seems to shut down around 10pm. This may not be an ideal vacation hotspot for the young, hip, 20-30-something crowd, but if you are looking for natural beauty, local history, and a nice, quiet, chill community to spend a few days, then I'd definitely recommend Rüdesheim!Guest review byKatherineUnited States
