Not as great as advertised. The old city center is quite nice. The views of the rivers are nice too. Worth a day trip if you're in the neighborhood. Parking situation sucks. There are parking garages that actually close from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. We got up at 4 a.m. to get on the road early to beat the traffic when we noticed the garage being closed. It's the first time it ever happened to us. No way to get in and anywhere near your car. It was 10.30€ for a day. It was the Parkhaus Wöhrl. By the way you can't pay by debit card and you should have the right amount of money with you. If you put in 50€ you don't get any change back! WTF?! If you want to be able to access your car 24/7 you have to find a garage that doesn't close for the night. There is one for currently 35€ a day. There are parking lots as well but I can't say how safe it is to park your car overnight...Guest review byAnonymousGermany - 8.0

I had an overnight stay as part of a three day long journey. The property is in a small village outside of the main spa town. A typical inn. The single room was larger than some I have stayed in and lovely to have a kettle-a good job I had my supplies of teabags with me. The room and balcony overlooked farmers' fields and was exceptionally quiet. Very interesting dinner menu including a nice range of traditional dishes including game. Very good buffet breakfast included in the price. Only drawback was the kitchen took last orders at 7pm and the reception closed at 8pm, which was worrying as I hit a lot of roadworks ,some with breakdowns in. We booked the hotel at Landshut as it was nearby to an event we wanted to attend. We had no idea how amazing Landshut was and were amazed by what it had to offer. A decent small town with basic activities, well suited for the more senior traveller not interested in night activities. Neat and well kept with some lovely scenery. Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The town itself is not really a tourist magnet and there aren't many sights to see in the town itself, except maybe for the glass factory and museum. But the position in the Bavarian forest makes it ideal for day trips, with and without kids. Because I was guest of a family event, I had to arrive early in the afternoon to take over the keys, then I join the event, came back late in the night, just for a sleep, take shower in the morning and join the family for breakfast in another place.
