Our visit to Emden was only overnight. We stayed near the city center on a small yet picturesque canal and walked to dinner easily. I recommend it as a stopover. There were a few things to see and do but we did not have the time.Guest review bySweetieHUnited States - 8.0

It is not acceptual that you can't use the car outside the hotel although we have booked a parking lot in the yard. The time in the hotel I am a resident and I should be allowed to use my car. That has not been to told to me before the booking.Guest review byHeinzGermany - 10.0

We did not see Leer at its best on this visit, as it was cold and raining, and you need to wander round to appreciate the town, which has an interesting centre and an open air museum of historical ships in the old harbour. We had been to Leer before, and on this occasion only spent one evening as we were "in transit". The old harbour, with the "Waage" and views of the church is very interesting, and a visit to Bunting's tea shop and/or the museum is a must. The area round Leer is fascinating, with many old villages in a mainly flat and peaty landscape.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I especially like the numerous public transport connections. You can take the ferries, the trains, or buses. You can even take the trains to Emden and have even more options there. And in Emden there is a supermarket next to the station with extended opening hours.Guest review bySinanGermany - 10.0

My husband and love the cute harbor of Greetsiel, you can watch the activities there from the small bridge and took a boat tour for about 2 hours, we love it. We do love to dinning out and try two different restaurants. One of them was at the historical place, the food was good, the food at the other place was excellent. All the attractions located nearby, so you can walk around to them all.Guest review byYasmin Scheiber, SKp.Indonesia - 10.0

I would definitely advise to travel around, small villages, historical sites, sea, dikes, quite different from other regions in Germany. Peaceful, quite. Habits and the language are similar to one that is in North Nederland, Groningen.Guest review byM. AksitNetherlands
