The staff were fantastic, the restaurant staff were so friendly and efficient and the amount of activities they have for kids and adults is impressive. It is only an hour away from Barcelona City Centre by train and Santa Susanna train station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity and the beach is less than a 10 minute walk away also. The dinner buffet in the evenings is only €19 and there was so much to choose from. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were kept really clean and the housekeeping staff were always pleasant too. We stayed in room number 2115 and it was perfect for our stay. The streets were beautiful, and I could walk there forever. There were a lot more homeless people than I expected, felt unsafe at night. The first thing you should do is book a tour market - you will get a good understanding of the culture and get a sense of how to continue your trip. Suggest coming to the tourist attraction as early as possible, around 11-13 will be very packed. Las Ramblas was okay, the trip would be the same without it, really just a packed street, and the whole idea is to fool tourists. Look for the streets that the locals are going to. BOOK TICKETS FOR Sagrada Família MONTES IN ADVANCE AND ONLY IN THE MORNING! In the mall, you have to pay 1.50 euros to use the bathroom. You should plan where you are going to eat. For us, it was really overwhelming, having so many options. For families with young children, I really recommend L'Aquàrium de Barcelona. We liked the area and the beaches. We were not expecting what we found also because a few years ago we went in the same area (Calella) and we were very happy with the hotel, the food and everything else. At that time we had all included breakfast, lunch, dinner with all soft and any alcoholic drinks included. Unfortunately this time that hotel was booked up for the time we wanted. The hotel is perfectly located close to the airport, ideal for short stays before flying or boarding a cruise ship. For visiting the city I would recommend another hotel in downtown Barcelona. Great little town with friendly people. Beach is gorgeous and easily accessible by bus or train. Don't expect everyone to speak English as this is a very spanish town.... this is one of the major selling points to travelling here. Santa Susanna is a lovely resort, with lots of places to eat, drink and take in entertainment in the various hotels. There are plenty of shops and little stalls along the Boulevard. The beach was clean but the sand slopes sharply into the sea. Good transport links to Barcelona and neighbouring towns. My partner was using a mobility scooter and getting around Santa Susanna was fine as it’s very flat and although we could and did use buses and trains we found this very stressful. The general problem with the Costa Brava north of Barcelona...
The general problem with the Costa Brava north of Barcelona is the coarse sand. You really need beach shoes otherwise it's uncomfortable to walk around the beach or going in the water with all the stones. Coming out the water is a nightmare without shoes. Also, the shore gets very steep very fast. 3 meters into the water, and you are completely submerged in most places. Completely different from the France side, with the dusty extra-fine sand and family friendly shores around Camargue. Costa Brava is wilder and more for swimmers. Cote d'Azur for safe children bathing. Blanes has a very nice panorama from the Castell de Sant Joan hill. Lots of things to see around also. Arts and history.Guest review byUsebastGermany - 8.0

I know the town very well and have been visiting for 50 years; it's changed a lot. The monastery is well worth visiting. The narrow pedestrian streets in the town centre are full of cafes, bars and interesting small shops and other businesses. There's a great atmosphere as people come out to walk in the evening.
