- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 267 reviewsWe made a point of staying at casas rurales during our Basque country travels and Jesuskoa was one of our favorites! Not only were the buildings and rooms exceptional in regard to style, comfort, and details, but also the grounds were spectacular. We had traveled via bicycle from Bilbao on our way to San Sebastian and the proprietor made sure we had a safe place to store the bikes (as well as charge e-bikes). Our stay happened to coincide on one of the evenings when the Casa didn't provide a dinner service but the proprietor helped us with a reservation at a nearby restaurant and even offered us the use of a property vehicle to drive to the restaurant and back so we wouldn't have to bike on the dark country roads at night. The next morning the breakfast was phenomenal and certainly provided us with the energy to cycle to our next destination! Despite our short stay, we will fondly remember our experience at Jesuskoa and would love to return for a longer visit if we find ourselves again in the Basque country!Guest review byManishaUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,103 reviewsWe were surprised at the location and the lay out of the room though it had no view and was in the second floor. The main entrance is a bit off a main street which was near residential and shopping area. All my favorite sites where reachable via foot. The Guggenheim Museum was a 15 minute walk, the old town was 20 minutes walk but you go through the Grand Via. A nice leisurely walk to the old town was simply unexpected. What I did love was the room lay out. There was an ante sitting room before the bedroom. Very cozy and well lit despite the low floor and no view. I did not mind. Bathroom was also well planned with nice wooden flooring in the shower area. There is a rooftop bar which I also liked but it was almost too cold to sit outside.Guest review byGinaAustria
- From $123.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 548 reviewsit was so beautiful there, the scenery was something off a postcard,we stayed on the campsite in our motorhome, the site was lovely very peaceful, but not for large campers, we are 7mts.. it was very tight, great for smaller camper's We were there to meet up with our son, who came to scatter his wife's ashes. The town was accessable by walking, I am disabled and was able to take my scooter. Very close to Gernika, a very interesting place, with a buzzing night life, lots of bars and restaurants, don't go to the Chinese!Guest review bySteppensUnited Kingdom
- From $154.51 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 823 reviewsThe state-owned Paradores chain is one of the jewels of Spanish hospitality. These places are oases of calm class, and Argomaniz was no exception. The setting is just lovely, looking out over the agriculture of the plain below. Everything about this place is just "right" - peaceful rooms, great water pressure in the shower, lovely staff and delicious dinner and breakfast, all in a delightful historic palace. Not showy or super-deluxe, just "right"! Basically unfaultable.Guest review byrobertUnited Kingdom

The museums, the stadion, the nice riverside, the bulevards, the parks, the pintchos, the drinks, etc. The market hall and the dirrerent small squares were excellent surprises, and their were pop up shops as well. I have to reurtn this city to a football match with friends.Guest review byBodnárHungary - 10.0

We loved the food although we should have paced ourselves better! Lovely town and good connections to other places. Although you suggest that there are great activities for 'young couples like you' we are in our seventies but yes it was good. We mainly walked other than to get to the more remote restaurants. The walking tour is really worth doing because of the history of the place. Donostia is a Basque city and special. Lots of good places to eat - some not the places everyone goes to and which are overcrowded. Transport links are good and you can also book tours. We got to Bilbao easily and next time will vist some of the local small towns.Guest review byDoughty - 10.0
Bigger than you expect.
Bigger than you expect. Central old town easy to explore without a car. A car allows you to see many lovely little villages in glorious rolling green hills. And an option to swim in a lovely clear lake. Too many good eating places to quote. Be prepared to eat small plates in the many pintxos/tapas bars.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bermeo's main attraction is the harbour area where all the bars & restaurants are located and few steps walk up and you can see everything Bermeo has to offer. The part of Bermeo away from the harbour is mainly residential with tall towers, which we can say is the new extended BermeoGuest review byNeelSharabhUnited Kingdom - 10.0
