The staff were exceptional. They helped with any questions we had and were always smiling. We arrived at the beginning of a festival and were informed about the attractions to see and how to get to them. Made the whole stay a totally enjoyable one.

Great hotel. The layouts of the rooms had really been very well designed. Stylish, comfortable, functional and spotlessly clean. It was our favorite hotel in 3 weeks in Spain.

The room on 5th floor. The view, the roof garden even with the swimming pool closed has spectacular view. The breakfast was fabulous. Their cheesecake/ tarta del queso is better than most of the restaurants that I tried. I will be back.😎

We made a point of staying at casas rurales during our Basque country travels and Jesuskoa was one of our favorites! Not only were the buildings and rooms exceptional in regard to style, comfort, and details, but also the grounds were spectacular. We had traveled via bicycle from Bilbao on our way to San Sebastian and the proprietor made sure we had a safe place to store the bikes (as well as charge e-bikes). Our stay happened to coincide on one of the evenings when the Casa didn't provide a dinner service but the proprietor helped us with a reservation at a nearby restaurant and even offered us the use of a property vehicle to drive to the restaurant and back so we wouldn't have to bike on the dark country roads at night. The next morning the breakfast was phenomenal and certainly provided us with the energy to cycle to our next destination! Despite our short stay, we will fondly remember our experience at Jesuskoa and would love to return for a longer visit if we find ourselves again in the Basque country!

The room was big, with comfy beds and quirky/fun decor. It included an amazing breakfast. There were also nice small touches (like complimentary tea/coffee and drinks in the fridge in the room). Highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairings; it was a delightful evening in the restaurant.

    Santiago is a beautiful city.

Santiago is a beautiful city. It's old center town is magical, straight out of a story book from the middle ages. Getting around the old town is easy once you get used to it. However, leave your car in the underground parking areas, since the town is almost fully pedestrian.

We loved the food although we should have paced ourselves better! Lovely town and good connections to other places. Although you suggest that there are great activities for 'young couples like you' we are in our seventies but yes it was good. We mainly walked other than to get to the more remote restaurants. The walking tour is really worth doing because of the history of the place. Donostia is a Basque city and special. Lots of good places to eat - some not the places everyone goes to and which are overcrowded. Transport links are good and you can also book tours. We got to Bilbao easily and next time will vist some of the local small towns.

Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors. It's an attractive city with plenty to see and do. It's family friendly too. It's easy to get to nearby Bilbao, or to Potes in the mountains. There are fast and frequent coach services all over the region. It may not attract A list celebrities or have the glamour of San Sebastian, but it has plenty of appeal if you are looking for a sun and sea holiday, and pinxtos too!

I read about Oviedo in a British newspaper.

I read about Oviedo in a British newspaper. It is in an area of Northern Spain that is rich in history and architecture but is not frequented by tourist from abroad. Not many spoke English, but that is a good thing, showing that the area is not primarily populated by local residents. I particularly enjoyed visiting the Cathedral, Archaeological Museum, Art Museum and a ninth century church. The Old Town is full of old buildings that are still in use and is very pleasant to stroll around in.

I was pleased with my time in Arzua. I was tired. It was a long hard walk with a 40 lb pack on my back, so reaching Arzua and having a clean comfortable bed with a private bathroom and the promise of a hearty breakfast the next morning was a bonus. Also I learned that I could have someone courier my back pack to my next destination was a very welcome piece of news.

O Pedrouzo is a small town on the way to El Camino De Compostela. We only needed to stay one night and that was enough. I'm not sure if there were much to do in town. We tried two restaurants El Bule and Galaicos that serve traditional Galician food. Prices were fair and food was good.

The hotel was right on the harbour so it was great to have look around the boats ect. A short walk uphill into the town and you find plenty of bars and good restaurants. If you dont fancy the walk into town there are 3 good fish restaurants on or around the harbour. If you have a push bike there's plenty to explore like the lighthouse ect.
