Beautiful city with lots to do and friendly people willing to help with my very limited Spanish. Would love to go back and stay longer! Favorite was the Sagrada Familia. Amazing to see and the museum area is great! The hop on off busses were great but one of the routes was way to long but interesting. Taxis are easily gotten and not too expensive.Guest review byMarilynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for three nights before travelling on to a coastal resort about 50 minutes away by car. Three nights was a perfect length in the city. Busses are easy to use although we spent most of the time walking - one day to La Malagueta beach and another day to Pedregalejo beach. We had a great steak meal in La Pampa, an Argentinian restaurant and on another evening we queued at a very popular tapas bar, Casa Lola, which I would recommend especially for the atmosphere. On this occasion, we didn't visit the Picasso museum but we have been there previously and it is thoroughly recommended.Guest review bySUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We visited the historic sights and took a bus and boat along with walks to a stunning park and a fabulous flamenco show. It is truly a very beautiful city and well worth a visit. Would highly recommend.Guest review byEleanor HowesUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The old town is amazing with lots of history and wonderful...
The old town is amazing with lots of history and wonderful architecture. You can lose yourself wondering around the narrow streets to suddenly discover another small bar or restaurant. There is no shortage of high end restaurants in this city either. Lots of small shops selling unique items up to the Colon area with all the department stores and branded shops. You must go to the central market to try all the fresh food. When all that activity is too much you can hit the lovely beach with clear waters and miles of sand. A drink at the beach shack is optional but after a hard day in the sun there is a selection of restaurants to choose from. It's a compact city so even the surroundings are easy to get to with plenty of taxis and very good public transport.Guest review byRajeevUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The city is so friendly.
The city is so friendly. Its easy to walk around and fairly close together. Need to book tickets for the Alhambra so we missed our as our visit was rather spontaneous. We visited the gardens though - very beautiful.Guest review byMarkAustria - 6.0
Hmm, it was my first time.
Hmm, it was my first time. It was fun but just right for a long weekend (in my personal opinion) I was with friends so it was cool and we had fun BUT its not what I look for in a beach holiday. It did feel busy (wasn't uncomfortably crowded - Beg of Sept) but plenty of people. Umm its your typical comfortably english holiday. Plenty of restaurants and bars and the beach was nice and clean. I think its def better than I expected and the service throughout Benidorm was pretty good. Everyone seemed friendly just very built up and did have that sorta 80s feel although I can see they are modernising it a lot (The Barcelò hotel is a good example of this) Felt the age range was either "lads first holiday OR older couples who enjoy visiting Benidorm every year" Didnt see a mid crowd. Again, not a problem just explaining my opinion. Overall, its fine, you get what you need if you just want some sun, sand , drinks and food. I was with some gay mates who went for Gay Pride and that made it pretty fun but did feel Pride wasnt really represented as much but it was ok. My friend experienced his first homophobic experience on the lift of the hotel. It was innocent by some young lads who dont know better but it was his first time and we were surprised being that Benidorm is so gay friendly. Its a very big mix of different types of people so I suppose its expected. Otherwise - fun place to go with some good mates who let their down and just go with the flow.Guest review byLuisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The museums, the stadion, the nice riverside, the bulevards, the parks, the pintchos, the drinks, etc. The market hall and the dirrerent small squares were excellent surprises, and their were pop up shops as well. I have to reurtn this city to a football match with friends.Guest review byBodnárHungary - 10.0

A very nice city with a lot of history, nice food, friendly people and of course with amazing beaches. I went with the purpose of just enjoying the beach and the sun and ended up finding a lot about the history of the city, meeting amazing people, tasting delicious food and beer and basically falling in love with the region. It definitely make me want to come back and also discover other cities and towns on the south of Spain. I recommend doing a guided tour on the first days of your stay because, independently of the guide they will always tell you which places you should visit, which restaurants to try, what kind of activities to do, which beaches to visit and how to get there. It really opens up your possibilities. Alicante was definitely a positive surprise for me and I truly recommend a visit.Guest review byMárciaPortugal - 10.0

We loved the food although we should have paced ourselves better! Lovely town and good connections to other places. Although you suggest that there are great activities for 'young couples like you' we are in our seventies but yes it was good. We mainly walked other than to get to the more remote restaurants. The walking tour is really worth doing because of the history of the place. Donostia is a Basque city and special. Lots of good places to eat - some not the places everyone goes to and which are overcrowded. Transport links are good and you can also book tours. We got to Bilbao easily and next time will vist some of the local small towns.Guest review byDoughty
